Rick Fox? Isn't that Vanessa's husband? The basketball player?
I have not gotten the book, yet. I will get it by this weekend. Everytime I read one of his books, it's like I am there! I know those characters, etc etc. I am so happy he has something new out.
Regarding the movie...you know how the movies from books are...sometimes, they can be a disappointment. For example, "Stella", the book was WAY better than the movie. When the movie is made for Invisible Life, I hope that the writers do it some justice.
HEY MAMAB....Sisterfriend, you know you are a trip. I bet he would have told me his favorites were the AKAs if I would have been there and so on and so forth... :

I always pictured Basil as being a dark-skinned brother. Remember on the cover of ...And This Too Shall Pass..., I think there was the guy in the football getup...
but I see Basil being played by like...
Morris Chestnut
Does anyone else have who they would like the other characters, including Basil to be played by?

I just read Not A Day Goes By and I thought that it was very good. Like some of the other posts said, it left me wanting more also. But that is what makes a great author, I can't wait until he writes the next one to see what Basil does next.
I don't know about Rick Fox playing Basil in the movie version of Invisible Life. Has he acted before? I could see Terrance Howard (light skinned brother from the Best Man) playing the part if he gained some weight and got buff to look athletic. I don't know ...

That would be a possibility, too for Basil.
What about the FEMALE characters...AND who would play Raymond?

I don't think that Whitney should play Yancey. She's too old. She could definitely play Ava. As far as Yancey is concerned, maybe Robin Givens. She seems to have a big diva attitude. Remember her character in Boomerang? Or even the female in The Best Man, who played the very bossy girlfriend character to the guy with dreads. I don't remember her name.

Whitney Houston, you have GOT to be kidding.
Have you seen her lately? She looks BAD! And it's not OLD AGE, either!
I was hurt she was put into Waiting to Exhale. I think it was done to make it more "appealing" to a wider audience. I don't know who I would prefer in those female roles, but Whitney NEVER entered my mind.
I will keep thinking, though!

I just finished reading "Not A Day Goes By", and I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!! I was in Chicago, and I stayed up to read it, knowing that I had to be up at the crack of dawn. The book is just that good. I don't think that Rick Fox would make a good Basil, though. I agree with AKA2D '91, Morris Chestnut should be cast as Basil.

Hey Ladies,
Well I have just finished reading "If this world were Mine", and I must say that I am totally feeling quite sympathetic for Basil. I think he's misunderstood, and he needs help to get over the things in his past.
As far as casting goes...Basil supposedly has these peircing GRAY eyes. They always talk about how light he is, and a scrumptous, tasty, delectable, fione, and sexy as Morris Chestnut is, I don't think he'd fit the part I can kinda see Rick Fox, cause he has the pretty boy persona, maybe add some gray contacts, and there ya go!!
I think that Stacy Dash might play a good Nicole, although she isn't as dark as they make her seem in the book.
I can totally see someone like Chris Tucker playing the part of Kyle, not because Chris is feminine or anything, but b/c of how comical Kyle is in the book (Ya'll do know that Chris Tucker is my future husband!!!)
Raymond...the jury's still out on that one, but if I think of something I'll let you know...well, I guess I have spoke my piece today...at least in this topic

I can't wait to get the new book. I love all of E. Lynn's books! Professor, I too have felt REAL sheltered with some of the stuff he brings up. It only made me read faster! onesavvydiva, you aren't the only one who is hoping that Raymond would "turn". A friend of mine at work asked Mr. Harris how she could find a straight Raymond during one of his online discussions. He got real disgusted. Can't a sistah want a man that has it going on too?!?!?

ATTENTION ALL HARRIS FANS...ATTENTION ALL FANS!
E. LYNN'S NEW BOOK "ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS" will be released JULY 10TH!
YYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!
FROM THE WEBSITE:www.randomhouse.com/features/elynnharris/index.html
At the end of Not a Day Goes By, the terminally bisexual John Basil Henderson declares: "I'm back, in full form. And I'm out there. Roamin'. And switching lanes." Now, in Any Way the Wind Blows, Basil, good-looking gadabout and homme fatal, is back at the top of his game (razzle-dazzling both the women and the men). All is well until Basil's picture-perfect life starts to unravel...
Left at the altar a year before, jilted Broadway bombshell Yancey Harrington Braxton stages her comeback--this time as a recording star--but has she forgiven ex-fiancé Basil, or does she still need to even the score? As Yancey's star continues to rise, her past threatens to catch up with her and she fears someone may be after her as well...
In a wicked little dance of revenge, Basil and Yancey struggle to keep their lives on track, while a chorus of unforgettable characters either come to their aid, or make matters worse. In the mix are: Yancey's mother, Ava "Mama Dearest" Braxton, a diva's diva and a second-rate showgirl housed in the body of an aging supermodel; the wise and wonderful Windsor Adams; and the new guy in town, Bartholomew "Bart" Dunbar, a rogue's rogue and handsome hunk of a man who stands to make Basil look like a choirboy.
With just the right amount of wickedness, love, and compassion, Harris's masterful storytelling and delicious plot twists will have fans and newcomers alike frantically turning pages trying to find the answer to the ultimate question: Does revenge ever really pay?
