I was in a situation very similar to yours back in October. Of course, I have a tendency to gravitate towards the guys with fast cars and even faster motorcycles. He made me feel like the queen of the world until one day it all fell apart. He claims he doesn't get back together with exes, but made a few attempts at getting back into my bed (and head) for old time's sake. I was being the victim of his mind-control games. He knows he's hot and a charmer, and he uses it to his advantage. It took a long time to get over him. The moment I realized I had control of the situation and didn't need him in my life anymore was the day I stood up to him face to face and said "you can't hurt me anymore." That was such a liberating experience. The look on his face was one of defeat (and sheer shock). I don't think any girl had ever declared her independence and let him know that he doesn't control every one he comes in contact with. Like someone else said, your pride is your strongest weapon in this situation. Use it!

Not the healthiest approach, but you could find another guy to distract you.

To add to what SG2 said: the quickest way to get over one man is to get under another one.

My daughter asked me yesterday who I went to my prom with and if he was nice. The boy I went to prom with put me through emotional hell in college and it was funny to sit here, 19 years later and say "yes, he was nice, he just wasn't ready to settle down with only one girl". When we broke up, I thought my whole world was ending! Now, 19 years later, I'm not quite sure what I ever saw in him! Time does heal, and I'd say 99.9% of the time, you will reach a point where you look back at it and there is no emotion at all, and you think "What was I so upset about? He was a dweeb." (Sorry, term from the 80's).

Eeeeeek! Rebound relationships are evil! Definitely not healthy. Bad bad bad. Look within yourself for strength and healing, not another man/woman. (Yes, some guys are bad rebounders too!)

I co-sign 100% here!

I did that once. And ONLY once! It was one of the big mistakes I made. I felt even worse about it then the original relationship.
Never again will do something like that.

Instead I just let the same guy hurt me over and over again
(Don't do that either)
