What can we all expect. Anyway, hope someone knows. Thanks.

"Carmen" was an opera by Georges Bizet with at least one film adaptation, meantioned earlier ("Carmen Jones").

I just wanna know why old boy (Mos Def) came all the way from Philly to Cali with only two bullets in his gun. What in the world was that all about?

And how about when it didn't shoot the first six times he was aiming at Mehki, he tried to shoot it again later. Were we supposed to believe that it was clogged or jammed?

- - - - -

Miss. Mocha - I was wondering the same thing? How do you head out to shoot someone and forget to load up your gun? I was dying when he went to shoot it again.

What about the part where the Beyonce, Rah Digga and Booty Crack Mama had a little video of themselves going about moving to Cali. It looked like one of those music videos that you can make at an amusement park. Come on MTV, music videos are synonomous with your name.

Ladies - y'all are making me laugh TOO hard. I sprained my ankle yesterday and everytime I read the new postings on this thread I laugh so hard it makes my ankle hurt.

Am I the only one who finds Mos Def attractive?
I was feelin him a lot more than Nappy...i mean Blaze

Rodeo Drive also had tarot card readers. Why did Wyclef look like Hits dressed up like Cleo. Someone stop the madness.

I'm mad at Mekhi though...I have so much love for him and I hate to see him give it all to "Carmen". I'm not going to cry...only on the inside.

Just a side note, This "film" was directed by Robert Townsend. The person who brought us Meteor Man and BAPS (Black American Princesses) Yall remember that movie Halle Berry was in...

Well maybe there's room for progress. the next time MTV does a Hipopera...which it will. maybe it will be better.

Somebody stop me I'm addicted to smilies

Isn't MTV the ones behind the new Wizard of Oz with Brandy as the lead? That should tell you something there. LOL at the Wyclef/Hits/Cleo line. Wyclef did not need that turban on. He doesn't need anything to accentuate that receding hairline of his.

Did any of you all recoganize "Zandria" from the parenthood? She was the sista that "Derrick" Mekhi left for "Carmen".

I did! Parenthood used to be my show! I must say too that I wish her parts in the movie could have been a little longer. She did a good job with what little spotlight they gave her though.

It's too bad I didn't get to see the masterpiece. I guess I'll have to catch the rerun. On bet.com there is a review which I thought was very funny and probably accurate! The brotha said Beyonce wasn't sexy in the movie!! I think it's safe to say she is no Dororhty Dandridge. But I'm sure it doesn't matter cuz Kelly and Michelle will be there in the end to tell Miss Knowles how fabulous she was!!!

Thumbs down

Hello,

I was trying to be unbiased and impartial, but this Hip-Hopera stank. Beyonces acting was awful. I think Cindy Brady could have done a better job. The only thing I enjoyed was the intermitent rapping. That was creative. I am not even going to touch Bow Wow in an adult prison....yeechh
If anyone who works at MTV or Paramount Television reads this, PULEEZE don't try THAT again

I am so glad I missed this tragic acting. I can just see Beyonce's father after the bad reviews. He thinks his child is the next Vanessa Williams.

Okay, I haven't said anything on this forum, ever but I had to put my opinion down on this one. Thank Goodness, the revelation that I have tried to bring forth has finally come to light. Beyonce Knowles is not unique, just her name. Now I am no hater, but yes she has a weave, sure she can sing and dance, but so can all my friends from high-school and none of them have weaves. All my friends had long hair for some reason.(irelevant poinT). I say the Carmen with Dorothy Dandrige and yes she is the bomb. Robert Townsend needs a smacking, the best thing he has ever done was the Five Heartbeats.
