My parents have been married 34 years, and only seem to grow more in love with each year. (that probably has something to do with not having any children to take care of/worry about anymore!) But the love isn't a hot, passionate one, it's more of a trusting, constant one. (Not to say that they can't be passionate, but that's not what solely drives their being together.) And I think friendship is a necessary, solid base for any marriage--or any relationship for that matter--you have to be comfortable with sharing even the worst aspects of your personality and accepting the worst of theirs. Marrying solely for love is a relatively new concept. Previously, most marriages were for beneficial factors (land, wealth, family, etc. . .) not to say that love wasn't involved, but it usually wasn't the only thing that drove people to be joined together.

Or possibly even a shindig or lollapalooza.
Perhaps it'll be a hootshinpaloozaree. I don't know.
