I just came back from my Alma Mater, where I, along with other Sorors celebrated our initiating chapter's 50TH AKAversary.

We had a wonderful time. Five of the thirteen charter members were there. They are still vivacious and vibrant and still filled with that AKA spirit. Of the thirteen, three have passed on.

It was moving to actually HEAR how our chapter was started by those who blazed the trail, as opposed to someone telling us "how it started".

It was really something I'll never forget!

That sounds so wonderful!!! My initiating chapter's 50th AKAversary is next year!! I'm looking forward to the celebration!

That's great AKA2d91...wasn't this your line's reunion weekend as well or are you all doing something separately?....Our line cancelled our 10th anniversary celebration -- everyone was too afraid to fly down to New Orleans...

Hope all went well...My 10th is November 24 and my chapter will celebrate 65 years of service in 2003...

Our reunion weekend is during Homecoming (Oct. 26-28).

Our theme: 93 Years of Poetry, 10 Years of AKAtude...and counting. (FYI: I suggested the 10 Years of... part)

I can't wait!

And ABQ will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee next year, too, I think.

Girllllll, it doesn't seem like it's been 10 years AT ALL! Where has the time gone?

Cute theme....Our theme was/is... "The UnbreAKAble Bond of Sisterhood" Reunion (my idea)

We decided that since next year is a Boule' year, we should meet there -- in sunny Orlando.

Its been a minute since I have posted. Studen teaching has got be T-I-R-E-D!! I hope everyone is well. My AKAversary is in a week, I can't believe I will be a year old. It seems like it was just yesterday.
