Oh, I'm sorry! That more than sucks. I agree, be sure to check the outfit you had on--my roommate lost her pin once for weeks and weeks, and she found it while she was doing laundry still pinned to a sweater she'd worn to meeting. And I'm a big fan of Saint Anthony, too...he helps me all the time! Good luck finding it...I know a new real gold one would be nice, but it's just not the same, is it?

Once I lost my key for about twenty minutes. I was hysterically searching my car with several sisters till I looked down and found it right beside my car where it had fell off my dress.

I've also washed my pledge pin, and am notorious for leaving my key on my clothing. I won't be surprised if it goes through the wash one of these days, too.

Good luck finding your badge- things you lose can turn up in the most surprising places!

I'm sorry to hear your pin went missing. Hope it turns up (and not on ebay!)

When I lose something, I sometimes find that it helps if I call it - like you would call a dog or cat. It sounds bizarre, and looks even more bizarre ("Here, badge-badge-badge-badge-badge! Heeeere, badge!") but it seems to work

Here's another one:

Baby Jesus, lost and found; please make KR's badge come around.

Maybe if we all try it, your badge will come back home.

check the garment bag

sometimes things get stuck in the bottom of them (if you used one). Also, did you check inside the shoes you were wearing? I've had earring get lodged in the toes of my shoes when I put all my things together in a bag.

Sorry to hear it, KR. But I agree -- the minute you order a new badge is the minute you find the old one. Plus you have a snazzy one for the future legacy...

as a sidenote, I used to wash the hell out of my pledge pin. (The non-formal one for us is a cute pink bow, but it still pins onto shirts, dresses, etc -- and boy did that little sucker come out clean every time.)

I suggest buying another. You might get lucky on ebay, and get your own back!

Kilarney,

I'd contact the President of your Alumnae Organization. I know that we frequently pick up items left behind after meetings and will hold on to them until people mention they've lost something. It's possible that someone entered the restroom after you, saw your pin and picked it up. I know I would have....

Good luck!! I know how sad it is to lose something you care about like that. I recently lost a bracelet that is very special to me and it's no where to be found (I've called everywhere I went that day) and I just found out they no longer make the bracelet.

I'll think happy badge finding thoughts for you!

Allison
