Wrong!!! Can we say "Welfare Reform" boys and girls?? Now, I am not against welfare reform, per say, but what good are you actually serving when you tell a single mother of 2 with no skills to get a job paying $7.00 and expect that to feed, clothe, etc. her family? I have an aunt that works as a resident manager for a subsidized housing complex" BKA "Da Projekts" and some of the people that live there still refuse to believe that they will be CUT OFF after 3 years on assistance!! I think we are about to go into the 3rd year of this law so things are about to get interesting!! My aunt said that folks are canvasing the neighbor hood, discussing the issues and how it will effect them and their children and folks are rolling their eyes and looking at them like they are crazy!!

Red face

The other day in church, my pastor said that if we (the congregation) ran into some black folx who said that they weren't going to vote, we had his blessing to slap them in the name of Jesus.
Oh, on a more serious but positive note, Rev. Jackson was on Tavis Smiley the other day and he said that over 15 million blacks are registered to vote. That-- operating on the assumption that were are about twelve percent of the population-- is more than half of us. If we can all get on the same page we will decide this next election. Now if we can only do something about them damn black Republicans.
Did y'all see the way Bush ran from the question about affirmative action in that last debate?

Sisters, for ladies seeking membership to AKA is it required that they must be registered voters. Of course, that still does not mean that one is actually voting. For my frat it is requirement.

Professor, I have to agree with you. We need to be more than just registered voters. We need to actually vote. This election is so crucial. If we get a Republican in office we are truly in trouble. The last thing we need is another Bush. Let's keep it real sisters and brothers. Voting is our voice.

if my 99 year old great-grandmother, my 76 year old and 83 year old grandmothers can vote, no one has any excuse. Witnesses? they're a different story. people who say their vote won't count obviously have esteem issues. if you know you have a voice and it must be heard, you vote. people who choose not to give their power away. that's definitely not my issue.
