I actually was intitated in the spring of 1998. My roomate, before she moved into the house, in coronado was a DG. One of my neighbors was a Tri Delt. My suitemate, before she moved down the hall, was a Sigma Kappa.
One of my friends from high school is a chi-o, another an achi-o, another an alpha phi.
At ASU, I know girls who are AGD's, Gamma Phi's, Sigma Kappas, Thetas and Chi-o's.

AXWhoa, actually I am not going to school at the moment. I am thinking about going to grad school in either ASU or NAU. I had just moved to AZ from New York almost three months ago.

I used to live in New York City.
I like it so far, but it is too hot (they tell me that the first year is the worst and you get used to it)! Where is the relief?!
I live in the West Valley area!

When I first moved to Tucson I didn't really like it. And even when I went back to visit in May I thought it looked dirty. However, once you're there for a little while it grows on you. You'll get to know all the places to go, i.e. salons, grocery stores, little restraunts, etc. and then it begins to feel like home. It has a small town feel, but it's not a small town. It's more like several small towns that came together to form one big town.

The school offers a lot; museums, Broadway plays, sports, etc.
Then there's hiking; Tucson has great hiking trails.

I'm beginning to get a little sad writing about it.
(I live in Tampa now)

How are you liking it so far?
Where are you living? (I don't mean specifically )

I think Tucson is a great town. The foothills are really nice and have some really nice looking homes along with some top notch resorts. Watch out for the Tucson drivers though, they're frightening. There are a ton of good restaurants around the University along with some fun bars if that's your scene. Let be the first to welcome you to Tucson! If you ever need anything feel free to PM me!

Need some advice

Okay, I heard that this time the Phoenix area (I am not sure about the rest of the state, please tell me if the entire state does) has its monsoon season. Has anyone in Arizona experienced this? If so, how do you cope with the phenonemon? Does it get any easier over the years? How do you prepare for them? I need to know since it is my first time dealing with monsoons.

Flagstaff also does see some of the monsoon season, but we dont get it as much up here. As for preparing for it, up here we really dont do much at all.

well since I lived in AZ for 19 years, I will post on teh monson thing. We never prepared, since it usally rained at night. The most we have to do it get the dirt off of our cars in the morning. Make sure you wind shield wipers work (the dust storms are amazing) and have a/c in you car.

Well that about it.

Oh and get lost of hairspray and gel.

Also, because the nature of monsoons is that they come and go very quickly...DO NOT ever walk into, or drive your car into, a wash or a street where "Flash Flood" signs are posted. Moonsoons can cause floods in the blink of an eye, and inevitably every year the Fire Department has to pull a flooded car out, or someone gets trapped in their car.

Of course, don't be swimming or standing under trees during a monsoon. You don't want to be struck by lightning.

In general, though, if you use your common sense, you will be fine.

(My wedding ceremony took place during a monsoon storm. Luckily we were indoors!)
