The absolute worst is Johnny Cash covering Nine Inch Nails "Hurt". It just doesnt sound right.

I love this cover. It's so moving and relevant to Cash's life and the like. Sure doesn't sound like the original though, but why cover something if you are just going to do it the same

I like Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé's cover of Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun."

I dunno about this one. At first I didn't like it but to know that man that is JOHNNY and if you've EVER seen the video...it's actually very moving. I sometimes think videos give us a good idea as to the message behind the song and in this specific case I think it was through his video that you can understand why he's singing the song. But that's just my opinion. Very sad that his wife passed away three weeks ago

Yeah, I agree with Hootie here. I actually think it's a very campy, cool cover!

I'm not quite sure who covered the song first: Whitney Houston or Dolly Pardon, but I don't believe that Dolly's version of "I will always love you" was very good. Then again, I'm not a huge Dolly fan but should she have done the cover...she didn't do it justice

Dolly Parton was the first person to sing "I Will Always Love You." She wrote it in 1974.

Faith Hill's cover of "A Little Piece of My Heart". Someone needs to grab her by her hair extensions and smack some sense into her.

In the same vein, I don't like Counting Crows "Big Yellow Taxi". I really feel it's unnecessary to cover a song for a second time (Amy Grant did it in the 90's).

My most hated cover, however, is Aerosmith's "Come Together". It's sacrelige to cover the Beatles, and it's even worse that another "classic rock" band did it.

I swear "Big Yellow Taxi" has been covered at least 3 times... it won't go away!!!

Anything sampled by some rap singer (total oxymoron) is crap. Never heard a good sample. They're just destroying perfectly good songs!
