Like others have said there have been times when a lot of members think about disaffiliation. Times are tough, you don't get along with other members, you feel like no one there "gets" how you feel, and quite honestly, it seems semi-normal to me at this point to hear things like this from members in all chapters. Adivsers are there to advise, and it seems that your CA needs to remember this, are there other advisers that you can consult with? Perhaps an officer at your national/international organization?
If you can, remember why you joined, remember your RITUAL, remember that sorority/fraternity membership is for LIFE. I admire our older alumnae who are still active in our fraternity and I too am proud to be a(almost 11-7-03) ten year member. There were times that it was very tough, but I love my organization and what it means to me is far beyond words at this point in my life. Today, looking back, I would have missed out on so much had I ever left. Don't regret the choices you make.
