Talking See what I started!

See what I started, anytime someone mentions Tally-Ho I am ready for Guthrie's! Librasoul, you hit the nail on the head. You would think Guthrie's was an afterhours club! It used to be packed after a night at none other than THE MOON! (For those who don't know The Moon is a popular night club in Tally). Who knew a restaraunt with only THREE things on the menu could be so popular. My order, a gut box, no slaw, extra toast, extra sauce and when I had a little extra money, a lemonade.
Another spot that I only went to in Tally was Whataburger! I truly hated their food, but sometimes they were the only place open and they were cheap. My husband and I used to go there to study in the middle of the night. (You know how those pharmacy students are).
Then there was Wing Zone. They were my lifeline freshman year living in Palmetto South because nobody else wanted to deliver there (and of course, we freshman didn't have driving privileges). They had like 50-11 different flavors of wings. LOL
Lastly, there was Sonic and Rally's. In my hometown, Rally's is Checkers but they have the exact same menu and commercials, it is funny. The best shakes ever. And at Sonic, you had to get one of those slushy things.

librasoul, I can't believe you like Wingzone. Gross! Hooters for me always! Us Tally people should get together and start a new organization Guthries Phi Guthries. Other Tallahassee spots? Hmmm...oh Mo'Mo's, where the slices of pizza are as big as your head. Literally, y'all. Mo'Mo's is on Tenn St. before you get to Guthries. Guthries and Mo'Mo's damn those are the spots.

I don't know of a WH that is NOT by the Interstate. All the ones I know of in Columbus, OH are next to the freeway. Looks like a truck stop, lol.

Now, White Castle. They have some good chicken rings!!! I love the ones that are also with Church's (that closed in Cleveland a LONG time ago) cuz I can get some chicken rings and some honey glazed biscuits!!! That is some good food after clubbin'. Alas, no WC in Chocolate City.

name the restaurants you frequented in college that you wouldn't go back to... now that you have more "options."
I went to college at Louisiana Tech in the sprawling metropolis of Ruston. Anyhow, there was this buger joint called Griff's that was right across the street from campus. OMG. You haven't lived till you had a Griff burger. It just does something to you But their fries were slamming. You had to get while they were still hot. otherwise that didn't taste all that hot.

I lived on WingZone my freshman year, but I haven't had it since. It's so expensive. I like BW3 and Miami subs on 25 cent wing night. How bout I was so broke my freshman year that I would order $5 worth of WingZone and when the driver came I'd give him three dollar bills and a handful of change and head upstairs. It would only come up to about 80 or 90 cents, but the drivers would never count all that change, so that's on them.

Oh, and after 3 a.m., the only place that still delivers to FAMU is Gumby's Pizza (on Tennessee, before Tommy D's). That is the nastiest pizza on earth. It wasn't even good when you were starving. I had to learn that lesson the hard way.

Gumby's tastes like AZZ.

Also, Tommy D's gave me the worst food poisoning ever. I have only been there once, but I avoid it like the plague after that.

BW3's on Tuesday nights is the BOMB.

And LOL @ you and the change...I might need to try that out...

Well since there are so many Tally folks on here, what clubs does everyone hit? lol, I have been to like every one. My personal favorite is Club Deep on Thursday nights.

Librasoul, I too avoid Tommy D's. There food is disgusting! And the prices to me, are very high considering what you get. I didn't like Chicken Kitchen either. I had it delivered, and by the time it got to me, the chicken was dry and the rice was hard.

Hey Librasoul, have you eaten at Moe's yet? Is it as good as I have been hearing? And what's up with Cicci's (excuse me, Club Cicci's) becoming the let out spot?

As for clubs I don't really go to clubs. I've done the Moon, Clyde's and Costellos, and Sloppy Joes. However, I refuse to pay what Chubby's is asking so I won't be going there. Haven't checked out Skyline yet either. How is Club Deep?

I haven't been to Moe's yet. Maybe when financial aid gets here, lol. Cici's is the new spot, I have heard. I have personally never been there after the club, so I don't know what goes down.

Skyline is ghetto now. I went out there the first week it opened and it was nice. Hip hop on the bottom floor, salsa upstairs and good crowd. I went last Saturday and dudes were in tee shirts and shorts. I probably won't be going back there.

Deep is really hot on Thursday nights. Good music, diverse crowd, and people know how to dress to go to the club. It is nice too, more like a Miami club than Tally.

*writing down Librasoul to contact for homecoming* Girl you know all the hot spots! I'm glad there are now more options than the Moon!
We need to have a get together....at Guthries!

The chicken would have been dry even if you had gone to pick it up yourself. Their food is just nasty and it has the nerve to be high priced. I have never been somewhere before that specialized in chicken but didn't specialize in seasoning.

As far as clubs, I don't go out too often because I'm broke. I do not have $10 to be throwing away every week to see the same people dance to the same songs. I haven't done Chubby's yet, even though I live around the corner. My friend went and said that all they play is "get crunk" music and that's just not my cup of tea. I used to do The Grove (now called upstairs) on Thursdays but, that's not really the spot anymore. I'm starting to fall out of the clubbing loop.

When I was in the AUC the place to go for a quick snack was Stegall's--a grocery store with a little grill in the back across the street from Woodruff Library. They had good chicken wings and pretty decent hamburgers, although you KNEW you were going to have a stomach ache the next day. They had a sign in the window that said "Chicken is chicken, but the WANG is the THANG!" LOL

The other hot spot was the "Roling Store"--no, that is not a typo. It was this white van that had "Roling Store" hand lettered and painted on the side. Of course it was supposed to say "Rolling", but I guess home boy couldn't spell. LOL They had a hot pot and used to sell hot link sandwiches on white bread.

Truly hungry broke days you called this little pizza place that was like a knock off Domino's, except their boxes only had 1 dot on it. That was the nastiest pizza known to man!
