I have to wonder also if this bill is directed soley at Greeks or if it's directed at athletes too. Some of the worst hazing happens in football and things like that, but because it makes the school money it's overlooked. I don't mind the no-hazing bill because we don't haze at all, but it should apply all around, not just to Greeks.

i don't see how it could NOT be applied to athletes, band members, etc. as well.

Perhaps this is unpopular, but I think it could be a good idea. First, I don't see how this will effect GLO membership. This isn't exactly the question PNM's ask during rush. "So Susie, what happens if I let you haze me?" Second, look at all the stories of people being badly hurt, and these are just about Greeks. Add to th mixture, band and athletes, we start to see a problem. I would guess that this is perhaps aimed more towards athletes, because full ride athletes would then...well not have a full ride. Greeks will be a side effect, but I think it is really trying to make it safer for students. Perhaps it won't fix everything, but I think that it will at least make people think twice before doing something really messed up.
