Thank you to everyone who posted. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
The scenario I described is a true one. It really happened to me a few years ago and continues whenever I see former "sisters" in adult life. (Im the girl)

For a long time I wondered why the women and an org (Alpha Gamma Delta) I had loved so much during my time with them (1 yr living in the house as a pledge and a semester "disassociated" working on the GPA. could turn so fast with no explanation.

I was never given any real explanation of what I did to cause this. Even what I said about alums thinking I was initiated and then shunning me after they found out otherwise is TOTALLY true.

I encountered someone who I thought had been a close friend and she said that associating with or talking to me would defile the bond she had with her initiated sisters. Others just pretended they did not see me. I thought that was pretty weird, I mean we shared alot and at least I thought there was a bond.

I am ususlly a good judge of who I should trust and I have wondered for awhile how I could have been so wrong because I truly loved those girls and even now wish all of them a beautiful and wonderful life.

I hope none of you took any of my posts as insulting. I have no interest in angering or insulting people I do not know. So many people have had fantastic experiences in the greek system. I am not anti greek despite what happened to me.

Thanks again for all your posts. Getting a different point of view from all of you was very refreshing. Thanks again.
