Agreed! And this is also cost efficient, in terms of your electricity bill. Natural heat...works every time!

About space heaters-

If you use one, just be sure "feel" around the outlet from time to time. Many use a lot of electricity and in an apartment with old wiring, it can over laod it to the point where it can "blow".

You raise a good point Justamom! I feel my cord by the outlet often and find that it's hot. So I'll shut off my space heater or turn the thermostat on it down so that it's not running ALL THE TIME. The nice thing is if you're hardly at home you're not running up a huge bill by keeping your furnace running. Plus you can centralize the space heater so it's heating up just the room you're in for the time being.

Another helpful hint. At night I shut my bedroom door so the heat isn't escaping the room. During the day I'll shut the bathroom and bedroom door so it's not flowing into those rooms while its (the heater) is in the livingroom.

Hopefully this winter won't be terrible or last too long. Maybe here in a few weeks the Groundhog won't see his shadow and we'll have Spring early (Now that's a wishful thought)!

I thought this was a serious answer!

Having a girl stay the nights is a nice cheap "space heater" as long as you both sleep nude. On second thoughts girls can run into serious money, so you may want to do a cost benefit analysis of girls vs. Extra heat. Although the girl comes with fringe benefits . . . and also liabilities. There may be more economy versions of girls also . . sorry I am beginning to get carried away by my analogy

Actually, if it were ghosts it would probably be only one spot of the room that is cold. hehe

Anyhow... um... well my house (rented) is really cold too- my room inparticular because it's on the first floor and my bed is right next to the window. I'm also really cold-natured which doesn't help any. I wear thick, warm slipper-socks to bed most nights as well as two layers of clothes & a big comfy sweater.

Sometimes I even have to sleep with a hot water bottle. I'm scared of space heaters b/c last time I used one of those it started sparking & I was afraid it would catch the house on fire! If you use one of those, make sure it's up on a table or stool- don't set it on the carpet.

Actually . . . you will sleep warmer if you sleep under covers with no clothes on. It has something to do with body heat . . .

But Hootie's idea of using an electric blanket is really good.

James, you're a natural wonder. I have no idea how you make it through these comments alive.
