I registered just to post on this topic. Thanks for bringing me in.
The chapter sent an honorary application in for Ron Jeremy and put him through ritual before getting approval (like they are supposed to). So, like it or not, Ron Jeremy is probably more Teke-like than a whole slew of 'official' Tekes because of the fact that he knows a bunch of secret stuff. (Plus if anyone asks him about Teke, he is a billboard). Now... on to the interesting part:
Elvis Presley's application for honorary membership was also denied... at first. The OGC felt that Elvis' hip shaking style of dance was suggestive and scandalous. It was several years later when Elvis was finally recognized as a Teke. Sooner or later, I think Ron Jeremy will be recognized also because he hasn't turned his back on Teke even thought he isn't officially a member.
(By the way, call it 'Offices of the Grand Chapter' or 'International' or 'HQ'. 'Nationals' is a non-Teke term. Don't mean to be a dick, it is just that every TKE chapter that uses the term 'nationals' I have ever met is also involved in some kind of hazing and is usually a poor chapter. Had to have courts for 2 of them.)
