I talked to my friend that is an AOPi here and she said that she was shocked and appalled when she found out what their new member had done during rush (their rho chis had told them!) and we were talking. She said that she thought she was fine, that she hadn't been rude to her sisters but that she did bring up the MTV thing a few too many times. She said she hopes that no one reacting to it here will help because her sisters dont really care about it. I was really glad to hear that. That may be what she needs, a group of girls that brings her down to earth! That is really weird that both of them ended up AOPi.

I saw the show today & remembered the thread

The girl who went to Florida & quit the squad- why was she sick? I didn't see the whole show.
How weird that they both ended up AOPi, I got the feeling that they didn't get along. I wonder what happened when they ran into each other over winter break & realized they're sisters...

I just watched the show and looked for this thread to see who we were talking about. Which girls went to the same school? I saw one went to Florida after she quit the squad-did she rush?

If I am not mistaken, the blonde girl who quit the squad (was her name Kim?) went to Florida and I guess from the previous posts she pledged AOPi.

The captain of the squad who wanted to go the U of Nebraska but ended up at U of Kentucky also pledged AOPi.

Any one else know of the other girls if they rushed and what school they went to?

The captain of the squad, Amanda, went through rush at Western Kentucky and pledged AOPi. She didn't go to the University of Nebraska. She isn't on the squad here either. I don't know about the Kim girl.

My sister goes to UF and, she has confirmed that the girl that went there did go AOII. I just now remember her telling me that the last time she was visiting.

funny, i just watched a re-run of the show today, and was wondering about the thread. I wonder how they feel about being sisters now, since they didn't really seem too friendly.

Was this one about the high school team that was going to the Nationals in Florida that ESPN shows? Dunbar HS? (yes I watch the cheerleading championships, it can sometimes be fun ). Also they were at a hotel and went swimming and talked to some guys who were there? Think I saw it and no offense , a majority of them were annoying. I felt sorry for the one who never got to cheer and the others thought she sucked.

Yes, you are exactly correct. I don't watch MTV on purpose anymore but when it aired a few months ago, I tried to catch it. I wished I had known it reaired recently.

I think it was a neat program. I was a cheerleader in high school but never competed so I guess I was intrigued.

I really didn't think anyone was very annoying but can't believe they acted so rudely during rush.

However, the cheerleading camp girl was horrifying! I mean, can anyone really be that way on a day to day basis? That scene was worth watching the entire show for!

kimmy, what cheer camp girl? are you talking about one of the girls on the squad, or one of the instructors?
I was a cheerleader in hs too, and the instructors at camp were all waaaay too peppy/excited/energetic. Especially at like, 7 a.m. But I guess thats part of the job

i have a colleague who works all three cheerleading squads..
god love her.
and she has to smash egoes before they go out of control. and this is at the high school level.
cheerleading, if not properly controlled, can get weird real quickly.
don't get mad. i respect the entity. but i could no more do a correct bambi than fly to the moon.

lol, I am a cheer coach, and if any of my girls EVER acted like that-so off the team. I have cheered for years, and never would have thought of acting that way!!
