Aaaaah, yes! College in the eighties was indeed a good time!

I don't think I would go back there, though. The hairspray and spiral perms were budget breakers. I think I would like to have hung out with F. Scott and Zelda on the French Riviera in the 1920's!

Anything before the 60's and you're just asking to die early and to die a boring life as well.

I wouldn't want to live in any other decade. I'm sorry but the 60's was just dirty. Yeah there was free love, but look at what else there was. People lived in communes, women didn't shave, showering was not a daily task, etc.

In regards to the 70's, I have two keywords for you: Disco and Polyester. I choose to pass on that bad boy.

In regards to the 80's, I couldn't stand the colors. It's as if every one had some hot pink tshirt with something about skateboarding on there. The guys rolled and folded up the sleeves on their sports jackets and did weird things with their hair.

I can't wait to see in 10 years what people say about this time

I'd be more comfortable probably in the 40's and 50's.

I couldn't handle the 80's, that's for sure..I have 4 older sisters who were teens at that time..the hair..omigawd..the hair...it engulfed everything it came in contact with!

The 50s, no question! From all the stuff my dad has told me, it sounds like it was awesome. Besides, I think I'd look hot in a poodle skirt!

I agree with Rudey. I was around in the 80s, and in my opinion, it was just NASTY. The music sucked, clothes were beyond ugly, and hair -- oh, I'm not even going there. Awful.

I would certainly not want to go back any earlier anyway because things for women in this country weren't anywhere near as good as they are now -- I don't want to be in a decade where women are expected to stay home & raise kids, because that's just not me.

No 70s

I was a child in the 1970s. Repulsive clothing -- why in the world did InStyle show those leather jackets for fall?

Also, the jazz was very tasteless. The 1970s brought the rise of the electric keyboard and fusion, led by Bob James and David Sanborn. Ecch.

Frankly, I like the decade I'm in today, even though I do admire fashion of the 1950s.

The Late 60s and early 70s. I am a flower child at heart, and ever since I could walk my parents & friends have said I belonged in that decade. Haight Ashbury, Woodstock, A VW Van, Flowers In Your Hair..... hhmmmm.....

Peace!!

.

What kind of jazz do you prefer? I'm more into Count Basie and Charlie Parker, plus some Buddy Rich stuff (Ever heard Channel One Suite? DAMN)

My favorite single CD is Miles Davis, Birth Of The Cool
