At IU, the majority of Greek houses are on North Jordan Avenue and the North Jordan Extension, north of 10th Street. There's even a campus bus line serving them! There are several houses on East Third Street, on the southern edge of campus. Then there are a few houses off by themselves: Delta Gamma is on Jordan Avenue but way south of the other Jordan Ave. houses, right by the auditorium. Theta is on Woodlawn, a block from the union. Sigma Chi is on 7th Street, across from Dunn Meadow and near the union. Beta Theta Pi and AOPi used to be on 10th Street, but both those houses were closed. The new AOPi house is on the North Jordan Extension and the old house was sold to IU...it now houses the School of Informatics. The old Beta house is boarded up still, as far as I know, and the newly recolonized Beta is going to build another house.

The houses are all gigantic and gorgeous, too.

At my school, Mizzou, we have Fraternity Row and Greek Town. On Fraternity Row we have Beta Sigma Psi, KA, Sigma Chi, Beta Theta Pi, Ag Rho, FIJI, and Sigma Nu. Then we have Greek Town which is on the clear opposite side of campus. The way it is setup is that there are l4 fraternities at the bottom of the hill, then all the sororities, and then most of the rest of the fraternities at the top of the hill. My house however, used to be the old Lambda Chi house, so we are a sorority house surrounded by fraternities! We live at the bottom of the hill between Sig Ep and Farmhouse, with Pike and ATO behind us. Not that I am complaining about THAT hehe.

The rest of the sororities, DG, ADPi, Tri Delt, Kappa, Gammi Phi, Zeta, Alpha Chi, Theta, Chi O, Alpha Phi, Kappa Delta, Pi Phi, and Sigma Kappa are all pretty much bunched together towards the top of the hill. AKL, AEPi, and Ag Sig are mixed in there somewhere with all those sororites though. At the top of our hill we have Phi Kap, Delta Tau Delta, Sigma Pi, Delta Sig, and DU. Across the street from Greek Town we have Phi Psi, SAE, Phi Delt, Kappa Sig, and Delta Chi. Lamda Chi and Sig Tau are both colonies here I believe and they don't have houses, yet.

Whew! We're all pretty much bunched together, except for those on Fraternity Row, which is unfortunate because some of my fav fraternities are over there, but it is sooooooo far to walk! Hehehe. Anyway, let me hear about your campus's!!!

Currently, We have only two Fraternity Houses on Campus: Us and TKE. Theta Phi Alpha did have one but they Sold it.

Currently we have the "Greek Village" on the West side of campus. It was constructed by Mercer University and has 10 bedroom (2story) houses and 5 bedroom (1 story houses). NPC and IFC organizations have 10 rooms and NPHCs have 5 rooms (due to the extreme differences in chapter sizes). The houses are arranged in an H shape on non driving brick roads. They are very nice looking houses!

Being a tiny school with an active Greek life, each of our GLOs has a house, but we're a bit scattered. Until this year, we've had four fraternities (Delta Tau Delta, ATO, Delta Sigma Phi, Sigma Chi) and four sororities (Pi Beta Phi, Chi Omega, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Alpha Xi Delta), but our DTD chapter closed last Spring and our AXD chapter is closing in the Spring, leaving us with three and three.

Here's our lovely layout:

On the west side of Hillsdale St., my house (Pi Beta Phi) is situated way down at one end and the Sigma Chi and Alpha Xi houses are two blocks down and almost next door to each other. On the east side of the street, the Chi Omega house is on the next block down from us, as is the Kappa house. The ATO house is directly across from Sigma Chi, and the Delt Sig house is also in the east side, one block from ATO. Basically, we're spread out on one street over the entire length of campus, but you couldn't so much call it a "Greek Row" because there are other buildings, too.

Been in the Theta house at IU....SOO beautiful. Of course I have been in the Alpha Phi house at IU as well, and it was nice but they had cold dorms and..I dunno i just like the Theta house a lot more

My old school (San Fran State) has no houses cuz of an ancient housing/brothel law. My new school however (Chico State) doesn't really have a greek row or anything...all the houses are scattered around the main downtown area, except Beta which is off in the boondocks, but it works out cuz they have this massive yard. Here's maps of the frat/sorority house layouts:

Fraternity Map

Sorority Map

Oh and these are just the NPC/IFC ones...there are a few locals - Sigma Alpha (Agriculture sorority) and Alpha Chi (not to be confused with AXO) that have houses close to the rest of ours.

Poor AGR just got their house burned down by an arsonist at the end of summer...don't know where they will be moving to.

Alpha Phi's house is closest to campus, woo! I love getting up 10 min before class.

Johnny B, I saw a House On Broadway when I was done for Homecoming but was told by some of the LX's that it was just a Rental house taht they were using!

I heard the SPE is in a world of hurt! As you know, we demoed our House and plan an building a new one!

I know that The Adm. wants to get their Paws on the ST house real bad, so keep an eye on them!!!!

Several years back, there was a thought of building a Greek Court way over on teh East sied of Campus to get Greeks off of Broadway and your House!

I went nuts! Ha, needless to say! Well with the state of the Economy that was dropped! Hell with the LXA, SX, PKA, SPE, ASA and AGD on Broadway, well except AGD, we were all close to Campus!

Be down In Feb 7 th Weekend, but sounds like a full schedual for me so prob wont have a chance to meet you! Will be staying in the Holiday Inn on North Side of Town!

Have a Happy Holiday Pitt Bro!

At SIUE, only two chapters have any housing: Alpha Phi Alpha has a ranch house on campus by the lake that used to be for the president back in the 60s, and the Sig Eps have an old school building that is HUGE, but needs a lot of $$$ to really fix up so it would be nice. The city has made it impossible for anyone else to get a house in town, and the upper-level administrators have no interest in building a Greek village on campus now. We are searching for a new chancellor though, so hopefully we'll get somebody more sympathetic to the cause!

I go to SUNY cortland in NY and there is only 5 sororities- delta phi epsilon- sigma delta tau- alpha phi- phi sigma sigma- and mine Nu sigma chi... mine is the only local- but we've been here for 75 years!- anyway- we all have houses- all four are on i guess you can say greek row- with my sorority on top of "the hill" and then we have two recognized frats- omega delta (epsilon? i forget- they are kinda new and we haven't mixed with them yet) anddd pi kappa phi (my big bro is in this one) - there house is pretty far away- then there is delta kappa beta- they are up off clayton which is close to our house- and beta phi epsilon- they have had the same house for years... its near the other sororities... and then there is TKE but they don't really have a house- i hope they get one- they are awesome guys- our greek life is pretty small- so we mix with sports teams and club sports- its a lot of fun- and we all go downtown to our favorite bar- anyway- thats suny cortland

Wow!
everyone has nice houses!!
we don't have houses, or even dorms for that matter...although 85% of my sisters live in the same court of apts...
all of the frats have a house somewhere scattered around the town. i think the crows are the only ones who actually own their house.

people even raised the idea of greek housing, got shot down real quick. i would love to see greek housing...one day. it would sure help with the housing crunch we're already having.

Bloomsburg University has a "sorority row" that has five or six of the school's 10 sorority houses, but most are not official houses. The town and greeks don't get along very well, as the town thinks all we do is party, but that's true many places.

Wink

shadokat, they have been watching to damn reruns of Animal House and Revenge of the Nerds!

It would be nice if some of the Local Stalwarts would get off of their Dead Asses and really see what Greeks do!

In mosts College Towns, if it werent for Greeks, High School Bands, Shriners, adn Horses! Damn few Floats. God what if they let the Mounted CowBoys/Girls lead the Parade!

What about the Thousands of Dollars that Greeks get for Charity Events!

I know, but what is need is more public relations with these people to show what we do!

Hey, how about small patio dinners inviting them over! Well not getting Drunk and acting stupid either!

Snow there, get the Chapters off of their asses and do some shoveling if the neighbors need it?

Yep, PR does a wonderful thing of salving teh Wounded Beast, The Neighbors!

I thought I'd ditto what Sister CardinalSM said & add a picture from the Mercer website.

This project was undertaken by the University with lots of private funding from alumni of all groups represented on campus.

Ok, ok.... so my reply is SLIGHTY different. Until this year, it was illegal for sororities/women's fraternities to have chapter houses. "WHY?" You ask? hahahaha...

In Tennessee, any house with more than 5... yep.. FIVE... women living in it was considered a Brothel... a hooker house to be put bluntly. Well, fortunately, just this year the law was struck down. However, NOW our Student LIfe advisor says we have to wait for ALL of the Panhellenic Organizations to be able to afford houses before we can even start to build one!

Here's the kicker...
We have 5 sororities on campus: ADPi, DG, KD, Phi Mu, and Zeta. Of the five of us, only 3 can afford chapter houses (I think because of actual Housing Authorities). So for now, we are only allowed chapter rooms. All the sororities get 1 small two bedroom apartment in the married/upperclassmen housing. How BOGUS is that?

On a less aggravating note...
We don't have a Fraternity or Greek Row. All of the fraternities are scattered across campus.
-TKE and KA are right next to each other on one far of campus
-AG Sig isn't even walking distance to campus
-SAE is over by itself on a road going onto campus
-Sig Ep, Pike, and FIJI are on a road just off campus
-and Phi Delt, Beta, Sigma Chi, and Kappa Sig are all on another road just off campus.
The fraternities aren't even next to each other, just more or less scattered up and down random roads off campus!

Funny story...
Ok, so I go to a university that is focused mainly on engineering and chemistry. Needless to say, in that crowd, there aren't a whole lot of Greek-minded people. Hence the lack of Fraternal organization on TTU's campus. One night some of my sisters and I were walking into the TKE house and this car of half-drunk guys drove by, turned around and asked us where "Frat Rowe" was.... like we had one!
