Brandi,
That's so cool that you guys live so near HQ! I'm so jealous!
In the packet it says that Semi-formal and cocktail attire is appropriate for the Awards Banquet. I hope that helps!

DZ love and mine,
Blaire

Thanks!

Thanks for responding. I just got an e-mail from our president a minute ago telling us more details of the event. She said she talked to the lady from HQ and there are supposed to be over 900 women present for the alumni day (some of us are also attending this event). Thats so awesome! I cant wait to meet so many of my sisters!!!

Cool

I'm so glad to hear how excited everyone is about Convention. I can hardly wait! I just hate that I won't be able to attend the whole week.

OH MY GOODNESS!

I think I'm so scared/nervous for this convention, because it's my first ever, and i'm the only one from my chapter to be there (at least active sisters, i'm not sure about alumni - more reason to be at my best!) So I have my clothing list, but I still have a couple of questions. Maybe I should just not worry about it, ya know?

Anyway, what exactly is cocktail attire? Would a shorter length navy blue dress work for this? I wore it to a homecoming dance in highschool if that helps.

Also, suitable attire for arriving. I'm driving to Oxford, and I was planning to wear a bluejean skirt and a summery dressy top. Does that sound right?

I know I've done nothing but ask questions and questions about convention, but for me it's a once in a life-time deal, and I don't wanna mess it up in anyway shape or form.

Oh well, I posted a reply but it got lost in la la land apparently so here goes again:

Yes, a nice blue dress would be cocktail. I am wearing two dresses to the big night events. For the lesser dressy event I will wear a black and white Liz Claiborn dress with a black bolero jacket and heels, do up my hair and wear black and white pearls, then for the installation banquet (the last night) I am wearing a chiffon-like just above the knee navy dress with a floral crystal necklace and earrings, my hair in an upsweep and heels. I will also carry my beaded turtle bag! LOL.

For arrival I will either wear Not so short black dress capris and a nice button down shirt or my khakis. Skip the jean skirt if it's a mini, but just above the knee is fine
