Shakira has a beautiful voice. Her English-language album did not show her song writing ability. I was reading an article on her and the writer was talking about how Shakira had to downplay her song writing ability so that she could fit into the American pop scene (AKA crappy songs about how you're an innocent virgin but will be a slave for a man
). I read some of her lyrics on her Spanish-albums (translated, of course) and I must say that she has a lot of talent! I think that Shakira will stick around unlike some of the other pop acts that are out there that shall remain nameless.
