Did you go to your prom?
Yes but I wentstag with my friends
What did you wear? Colors?
I wore a strapless yellow Tiffany Designs Co. ball gown. (just imagine Belle for beauty and the beast minus the ruffles).I had yellow and goldish starp around the ankle heels. However in order to dance the way we want during prom my homegirls and thought it would be differnet if changed shoes and rocked speciality color Chucks that matched our dresses. This was of course after we took pics and everything. Needless to say they were the hit of the prom and other girls were complimenting us for thing of sumthin so original. Not to mention my homegirls and I got featured in yearbook.
Were you prom king/queen?
Nah, I was ASB prez.
Did you go with someone special or friend?
Nah my bf was a trick.
What was your prom theme?
Gosh I was on prom committee and I can’t even remember.
How much did your prom cost? Some proms now have ish prices?
Our prom bid was $75 or 80 I think. My dress including shawl was $190. My shoes were $36. My hair was free cause my sister did it. Strapless bra and pins were $37. The hair products were like $50. My purse was free cause it was a family heirloom. My make-up done by M.A.C was hella expensive it was so much I don’t even remember. Nails were $40. There were other stuff but I forgot.

When I see things like this I just don't know WHO to smack. The fools in the clothes or the ones saying, "Oh yeah, that looks good. Get that. Get that. That's hot. That's original. "
And to think,I thought I was styling and profiling when I wore a simple royal blue gown and my date had on his Air Force Blues ... I knew we should've worn the cover of Belly.

Also, is it just me or do they look old for highschool? I look younger than both of them and I am a good ten years past highschool. What are these kids doing to look so worn out so quickly?

Yeah this one made me chuckle because this one is creative and not utterly inappropriate.
They appear high school age to me.

LMAO!!! Now, you know you need to quit!!!!
My places and prices are the same as CT4's except I went in '92. I was in a cotillion that year, so I got my cotillion dress altered for my prom dress. So, I wore a long, white dress. Crimsinqt, I couldn't get my THIGH into my dress!!! Don't feel bad! I went to two proms that year, both with my good friend, who soon became my boyfriend. I don't remember the theme... Maybe It's So Hard To Say Goodbye? I'ma hafta look at my stuff when I get home. No, I wasn't queen.

Re: FLASHBACK to your PROM
I get to test my memory. Let's see... WAY back in 1989, I went to my prom, and it was terrible.
-Did you go to your prom?
Fortunately, I did. Unfortunately, with the wrong person.
-What did you wear? Colors?
Black and silver. To make my prom worse, I had the same dress on as another girl. I walked in the door, and the girl was standing there. We looked at each other, with our mouths hanging open, and people were laughing so hard. It was so embarassing. But, as the night went on, I forgot about her. Besides... I looked better in my dress, anyway.
-Were you prom king/queen?
No. And I can't remember who was.
-Did you go with someone special or friend?
Heck no! The guy was my boyfriend at the time. But he was a true thug. He was acting so thuggish, ruggish, it was ridiculous. Yall, he didn't even get a car for us to go to the prom in. I had to call my friend, at the last minute, and ask if we could ride with them. Just another embarassing moment to add to this horrible night.
-What was your prom theme?
I can't remember. Too long ago.
How much did your prom cost? Some proms now have ish prices?
I think it was $20 dollars. Oh heck, I can't remember... it was too long ago.

Re: FLASHBACK to your PROM
Now, I cannot remember all of this, it was back in 1990:
my dress was Peach. The style back then was where the front of the dress stopped at your knee or above and the back of the dress went to the floor or right above it. THAT WAS THE STYLE. LMAO
king/queen: can't remember
date: my "special friend" Moses (lmao) until I left for college
theme: cannot remember
cost: we didn't have to pay, the Junior class paid for our prom. I DO remember that.
what about the after set?
we (groups of us) went to the riverfront (levee), rode around town
returned home around 4 am

This is like the ultimate PROM NIGHTMARE. But at least you looked better kissy324, LOL.
At my school, there were these two girls - one who was like the school hoochie-mama who always wore the most revealing and crazy outfits ever. Then there was this girl who always dressed badly. Back then, someone who dressed out of style, we called them "SKLAH" (it's pronounced just like it's spelled, to rhyme with "fa la la la la"). Sklah. This girl was straight up sklah. We also call/called that "boogie". Ol' girl was sklah AND boogie. And if something was really really bad, we called it "sklah-vega". Why or where this came from, I have no idea.
Anyway...everyone was wondering what is hoochie mama going to wear to the prom, and what is that sklah-vega chick going to wear to the prom. They came in the same dress. It was hilarious. The hoochie chick was embarrassed, but the sklah chick was almost proud that she had on the same dress as hoochie mama, who dressed hoochie, but stylishly...
All of y'all youngins talkin' about "I can't remember, it was all the way back in 1989, 1990" are tripping....

Oh geez...after my intial wore off about the sklah thing (and sklah vega even) this post is a riot! LOL But I tried to say sklah aloud. It is hard. When I say it, it's like 3 syllables...sk-uh-lah...maybe I am just too Southern?

Re: Re: Re: FLASHBACK to your PROM
I CANNOT remember. Seriously. I do remember the decorations had these blue clouds with the our names and our dates name on each cloud taped on the wall. The clouds were outlined with silver glitter. I still have that it's in my memory book.
I guess the colors of the prom were Blue and Silver...
I do not remember WHERE it was held. lmao
Alot has happened since 1990.

Did you go to your prom?
Yes, both Jr and Sr
What did you wear? Colors?
Jr prom was black and red and Sr was pink and white.
Both of my dresses (which I still have!) were tea length. Both were made by Jessica McClintock--the Gunne Sak line.
Were you prom king/queen?
Thank GOD no...
Did you go with someone special or friend?
Well, Jr prom I went with my crush, who I found out later had 2 kids by 2 different women. We had a great time though.
My Sr prom, the guy(different guy) was a jerk. He lied about the limo, lied about how much money he had for pictures, dissappeared when we got there to hang out with some of his friends. But I got him back. There was thisREALLY CUTE guy I had a HUGE crush on--a sophmore whose girlfriend was in my Sr class--asked me to dance during the prom. Mind you, my "crush" knew I liked him and we were on the track team together. He was so sweet. He saw me sitting by myself and while his girlfriend was gone chatting with her friends, he asked me to dance. We danced for 4 songs! It seemed like forever. I was floating for the rest of the night. If it wasnt for that, my sr prom would have really sucked.
What was your prom theme?
1984--Jr. was Love Me In A Special Way
1985--Sr--I can't remember
How much did your prom cost? Some proms now have ish prices?
Geeze...in the neighborhood of 65 for a couple for Sr. and I think 30-45 for the Jr.
