How did you get to pref then if they disqualified you after interviews?????

And they wouldn't take Miss America if she wouldn't give up her crown?

No, I don't think so.....

This just doesn't sound right because it's not how we do colonies.

I'm 99% certain I know the school you attend and women were allowed to participate in formal recruitment and then participate in colony recruitment.

I think where you are getting confused is that women participating in formal recruitment who decided to participate in extension recruitment were not able to sign MRABAs - so they had to withdraw before bid day.

So you technically could have participated in formal but would have had to withdraw before it was completed should you decide to pursue it. You couldn't accept a bid and then try to participate in the colony.

Colony recruitment is competitive. Organizations want to select women who have the time and energy to devote to building the chapter on campus.

My mom was an Alpha Xi Delta colony member and I've heard many stories about the hard work they put in!

Also, I'm fairly certain that there is at least one chapter on your campus who is still eligible for fall COB. If you know women in that chapter and really want to be Greek, I dncourage you to reach out and express your interest.

This sounds much more plausible to me. Colonies are such tricky entities. It only takes a few girls thinking they are running the show to completely derail the progress. That is not to say that's what happened with the OP, but fear of that could be the issue.

It seems Alpha Xi Delta's colony procedure lately has been to take less than the maximum allotted number of girls. If you are still interested, you might express that interest and make clear you are not part of a kabal of girls who think they will be running this chapter. If I am understanding how it works lately, they start the colony and then add groups of girls later, and in the spring after the colony is a chapter.

I am not promising anything (I have no direct connection with our colony there), but I think continued interest could possibly pay off. Go gently.

It certainly didn't take very long for this thread to move over to that other site... ugh. Enough!
