Popular, Greek, Bully Or Just There.... What were you in High School? - Page 2

I was associated with the "band-geeks" because most of my friends were in the band. I never felt very popular, but I usually had someone to talk to all the time because our group was huge. After I graduated, I was talking to a guy that I had liked way back when and he told me he always wanted to ask me out. When I asked him why he didn't, he said that I was popular and he didn't think that I would have gone for him. Now why can't they tell you that while you are still in HS??

hmm high school? here's a good story to explain the dichotomy of that time period:

I was on the front page of the Des Moines Register twice in high school (not a big feat really) - once as part of a national-champion roller hockey team (they used my picture, i was the goalie, for the story), and once for college admissions test scores (i did pretty well...)

I was "the smart kid", but I played hockey and golf too, and had friends in most every group - my group was known as partiers generally (still are), and I take hellish pride in being the "smart kid" who "parties a lot" - gotta keep it straight-up, even in high school.

Balance the academic with the social, all things in balance

Hmmm. I guess I was pretty popular, though I didn't care so much at the time. I was a cheerleader and my best friends were all either cheer, drill team, etc. Several of us made Homecoming Court. I had a tight clique of girlfriends and we were always together and because of our various activities, also very visible... did that make us popular? I don't know. We were and all still are nice and sweet women who didn't have attitude problems and were just happy to be together and do the things we liked to do. But everyone knew who we were, so...if that made us popular, than we were.

In HS i didn't do jack #$%...I just kind of drifted along, barely participated in anything. i didn't mind my 5 yrs. (we have 13 grades in ontario) though, i considered 90% of my graduating class freinds, so it wasn't that bad.

University's been great, i've matured a lot through campus involvement and have met a ton of ppl.

I was the smart one... valedictorian and all that. I wasn't the prettiest and I sure wasn't the most popular... but I was the one who got asked to tutor people in math and science. Got a few folks through the New York State Regents

I also ran track and sang in the choir, so I knew lots of my fellow students.

I definitely understand, except I was one of the ones *without* in middle school...it took me a little longer, but it all worked out.

I'll just attribute it to the genes and skipping a grade, therefore being behind everyone else age-wise! But it's fun now..going to college while still 17 has been an experience. Uhm, high school...I don't know, "cheer captain" I guess would be how I was known...but i'll always think of myself as a dork

And like JAM, I was "missing the hayrides" as well.. never have been big on the random hook-ups, sorry!

I definitely have fond memories of high school, but I was glad to be finished and move on...my hometown has never been big enough for me I guess you could say.

well in junior high i made awesome friends who were in band, and then we got into high school and they started to hang out in the band hall which i was allowed to go in. So then i started to make some friends in my dance class and then we all made drill team together and got to be really close. I had a ton of friends on the football and soccer team, plus most of my girl friends were on drill team with me or on the cheerleading squad. I guess you could say i was pretty popular and everyone knew me but i wasnt a snob and was friends with everybody.

I was on drill team, spanish honor society, octagon club (community service) and i was an officer for drill team junior year. I decided not to run senior year because it was too much work and was busy having fun!

Oh, i was in senior women too.
