I don't know any tridelts personally and I think it is great to have pride for your organization, but I don't think that people inquiring about greek life should be told that tridelt is the best sorority. There is no best sorority. To me it is not the letters that matter it is the experience you get from being in that particular organization that should give you pride. I just want to say to any potential greeks, that it is not the amount of famous alumnae that counts...every sorority has some. You could change that by being famous one day yourself. Don't be a follower when it comes to selecting your organization. Choose what feels right and that GLO could help you become a "notable" alumnae.

I just recieved "The Trident" today (Tri Delta's national magizine) and upon reading what all the other Tri Delta chapters are doing, I was amazed. So many good things are going on because of Tri Delta! I am so proud to call myself a Tri Delta, as we all raised over $10 million last year for childhood canser research. Way to go ladies, you all rock!!!

Tri Delts at Penn State.....
Started THON 28 years ago which most organizations now participate in and raises millions of dollars for cancer research every year. We also have one of the highest GPA's on campus and are a first tier sorority. Sadly though we also have the "slut" rep. You know..."don't try the others...tri-delt" It's ok we can laugh along with them

My school didn't have a Tri-Delt chapter, so to answer your question, "What do you think of Tri-Delts?", my response is "I don't.".
Here is a question for you: "How do you feel about wearing 3 delta's on your sweatshirt?" IMHO, it doesn't look as "interesting" as say, wearing a combination of different letters on one's sweatshirt. Ditto for the Tri-Sigma's.

Although I'm not a Tri-Delta, my 2 best friends are. I think that comment is offensive to the sisters of Tri-Delta. It is wonderful to love an organization and I commend you for supporting it in anyway possible, but it isn't fair to put down another organization. Love your organization but don't speak negatively about another.
Tri-Delts are TRUE DELTAS and have been since 1888!
(this is not meant as ANY kind of disrespect to the ladies of DST)

We didn't have tri-Delt at either of my universities, however, I just read the coolest thing in "The Lyre" (the national publication of Alpha Chi Omega)....one of our sisters was raped and as a result (sadly) committed suicide. Her mother is a tri-Delt, so the 2 organizations have teamed up to present her story to campuses throughout the nation. If you are interested in bringing this unique team presentation to your campus, you can contact Alpha Chi Omega Fraternity for Women at www.alphachiomega.org
for more information!

<<AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED AINT BUT ONE ORGANIZATION THAT CAN CLAIM TO BE TRUE DELTAS, AINT BUT ONE ORGANIZATION I'M A SHOW LUV 2 AND THATS DST.>>
--See, it's attitudes like these that really tick me off about this board. It's bad enough that there's intense rivalry among BGLO's, and less intense, but university-based rivalries, among GLO's, but attempting to start something between a BGLO and a GLO is ridiculous. I know a lot of you won't agree with me, but when Joe Q. Public hears about a hazing incident that resulted in death, or a fraternity getting kicked off campus, or sees a movie showing Greeks in a negative light--he's basing judgement on all Greeks--not making the distinction between NPHC, NPC, or NIC groups. Bad press affects us all.
Finally, one should show love to all organizations. I, for one, love my group deeply, but I respect members of all organizations, because no matter what the letter (or color of those wearing the letters), we're all Greek together!
AXO Alum--forgive me for sounding totally stupid, but do undergrads get the Lyre sent to our home address, or do we not receive the Lyre until we graduate?
The cooperation between AXO and Tri-Delt makes me proud, once again, to be Greek.

AlphaChiGirl -
I emailed you so let me know if you get this. To answer your question, you should be receiving The Lyre at your parents address. If your address is different from theirs (ie, you aren't home for the summer) then contact them and ask for it to be sent to you. All sisters should always be receiving The Lyre.

That was a very rude and uneducated thing to utter. Of course you cannot understand the meaning as to why our founders picked the three deltas, as you are not a Tri Delta, but seriously that was the dumbest comment I have ever heard. Who honestly cares if there are three letters, two letters, or the same letters? I would just like to also remind you that most girls don't seem to mind this this combination "isn't that interesting to look at", as Tri Delta pledges some of the highest numbers every year. We are one of the largest sororities. So how do you feel now?

unfortunately, when you begin a thread and ask people to say their honest opinion of your sorority, you are going to get negative responses. i'm not saying that anyone is "right", just that you need to expect people to say positive and negative things. if you can't handle that, don't ask people their "honest opinions". not being rude, just clarifying

I agree...so much I had to copy your post AGAIN. FYI, when members of the NPHC transfer into grad chapters the whole pseudo rivalry changes completely. No one has time for it.

i forgot to add---you wrote this about theta:
"Ok...well here it goes....at my school they are SO DAMN ANNOYING. They want to win all greek competitions...which is great that they have that spirit, however, they get psycho about it. They are known as the fat annoying sorority. "
How in the world can you tell someone not to comment on your single letter delta when you can say this about theta? now, this is your OWN personal opinion, so no one should say anything negative to you. but it's a two-way street. if someone says they don't like tridelta, just don't respond, because after all, this is what you will get when asking for honesty. (bTW--i'm not saying you are wrong for this opinion, maybe this is how they really are at your school, just that you need to expect posts similar to the one you left for someone else)
