I saw no actual statistics. I saw "claims" and bizarre ones at that. They are ranking online only schools as "safe campuses" that's just silly. I'm more likely to get attacked online than I am at Amherst College, Williams College, or most other schools on this list considered to be "unsafe"

It could be something like current Amherst students in GLOs affiliated at UMass are allowed to continue membership but bans uninitiated students from joining. I remember hearing one Phi Sigma Kappa was not a UMass student, but different orgs have different rules about membership and who qualifies.


I agree that this is a dumb idea on the college's part, but Amherst never struck me as a place where students really wanted Greek Life. I suppose if a potential student liked Amherst but also wanted the Greek experience, they could find another university either in the Pioneer Valley or a college with similar credentials.
