Thumbs up

Great Bump Up for an Old Post!

This can be truely a good event!

If any try it please let us know!

I would like to try the same with any one from the Kansas City Area one of these days!\

But hope some come back on this to give more ide4as!

Alums and Actives getting together to show that while age may be a difference, the feeling is still there!

We do....

...an alum - collegiate luncheon each summer for the girls whose homes are in our area -- Southern Crescent area of Atlanta (Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Newnan, Sharpsburg, Senoia, Stockbridge, Jonesboro, etc) -- we included in this years event a candle-passing where a lit candle is passed as we all stand in a circle and when you get the candle you say something you are grateful for...it was a big hit...we also used the luncheon to give our collegiates items from their wish list -- we had asked both our collegiate chapters from UGA and Southern Tech to tell us items they needed and we got as many of the things on the list as we could -- things on the list included mundane day-to-day items like pencils, tape etc as well as unusual items like a ritual lamp and a tool box! The collegiates were thrilled and said it was like Christmas in July! We did this luncheon in someone's house but it could also be done at a restaurant for a larger crowd...the BBQ idea is good or you could have a family picnic and pool party with a luau theme if someone has a larger home with a pool or you could do it at a park and have games etc like Monsieur Earp mentioned -- we do a family BBQ & pool party here in Peachtree City in the summer -- it is mainly for alums though one collegiate did come with her boyfriend (her mom and older sister are alums here) -- another idea is to go on the PBS fundraising drives together wearing your greek letters as you answer pledge calls and then go to a local eatery afterwards....
Good luck!
