For my 21st birthday I went to a youth conference in Maryland with a group from church and a blessed time. We performed there (step team from church) and won first place (even though we weren't in a competitive spirit but to minister). Either way, it was a blessed day and I had a blessed day. Although I returned late that evening my roommate made me some gooooood cheesecake w/ strawberries

My 21st was pretty uneventful...I think I had dinner and drinks in my apt in Toronto with my honey. We were pretty broke then (and saving our money for our Christmas trip home) so we didn't do much. But like Siobhan said, 21 isn't a big deal in Canada....19 is!!! For my 19th I went to the Casino (lost $10 on the slots) then hit the bars in downtown Halifax with some friends. I ended up drinking all night with the Zeta Psi brothers (I had a friend who was a brother) and that night I had so much fun with the guys (and meeting some sorority sisters from school) that I decided that I was going to rush a sorority next semseter...which I did!

My ex took me to New Orleans for the weekend, and we just drank, drank, drank, and ate all the cajun food we could handle. That place rocks. All the bars gave me free shots when we went out. I had a blast!! I'll never foget it.

As it is my 26th birthday today (jan 23) - I reflect on what I did on my 21st birthday in comparison to what I did today.

Today I:
Went to work
Attended a meeting
Read the paper, emails, and returned phone calls
Locked my office door and took a nap.
Watched Montel.
Watched Young & The Restless
Went to lunch with my coworker friends - and continued to celebrate my birthday until Guiding Light came on.
Left work early.
Came home, changed clothes, went to dinner with my parents.
Went home with my parents and had cake, presents, and casual conversation.
Came home, put on jammies...here I am, about to go to bed.

On my *21st* birthday I:
Skipped classes
Slept till 2pm
Went to lunch with my friends, got presents, gossiped.
Went to the mall and bought some stuff.
Came home and put on new stuff.
Met the gang for dinner, more presents, more gossip.
Let the liquor flow freely.
Danced. Drank. Drank. Danced.
Had sex with an ex boyfriend.
Starred in an amateur video.
Danced. Drank. Danced. Drank.
Got a tattoo.
Got my palm read.
Drank. Drank. Slurred. Slept.

So now....5 years after my 21st birthday...I feel somewhat lame lol I am officially old

I didn't drink at all that day, or that weekend. But I did have a good birthday. My then boyfriend took me to Vegas, the Hoover Dam, and the Grand Canyon. It was a lot to do in four days, but it was so much fun.

OH MY GOD, VolGirl--your comparison cracked me up!!! I so felt the same way about my 21st and my 24th. My 21st was CRAZY! My 24th, my brother was in town and I wanted to be able to have fun with him the next day and show him Atlanta, and we all know that is no fun to do when you are hungover. So, I did go out with my friends, but I had 2 beers and went home around one, where as soon as we got to my car(we had cabbed it there)I hopped back into my car and went to Steak and Shake, because all I wanted at that point was onion rings and a hamburger. On my 21st, I couldn't stand--on my 24th, I could have been the DD!!

Let's see. After class (around 10am) we went to our favorite bar, Charlie's and got bloody mary's and omelettes. Then, I came back and went to my next class. After that, we went back to Chuck's and got a burger and some beers. Then, I came back, had a couple more beers, and went to my next class. skipped the following class, came back to the house, had a couple more beers, then around 5, we went to Chuck's again, to start the real party. We had another burger, some beers, a couple shots, and then went to the Terminal. I had a few more shots, a few more beers, and then went to T's. I had several more shots, and maybe another beer or 2, and then i fell and hit my head on the bar. They took me back to the house, and i proceeded to wreak havoc. I got in a punching match with one of my best buds, all in good fun, headbutted a couple people, and then accidently put another friend in the hospital. He was helping me walk, and I fell. I'm about twice as big as him, so he fell too. He hit his head and busted it open, had to get staples, and now has a nice scar to tell the kids about. He wasn't pissed, but I felt terrible for it, still do. I had a lot of fun on my birthday, but I don't think I'm gonna have that much fun of that kind again. When the smoke cleared and the mess was cleaned up, I had, throughout the day, probably 20 shots and half a dozen beers or so...

It's been great reading everyone's posts! Thanks for sharing your stories--even if you wish you could forget some of the stuff! My party was so great, and the party has only just begun.

My 21st was about 2 weeks ago and it was the best weekend ever (even though I was extremely sick with bronchitous) We started it at midnight the night before and that was really long night...lots of shots I have never even heard of lots of drinks. Slept really late the next day (my actual bday) and went out to dinner with a few sisters and my best friend. And then went to a club and when everyone found out it was my 21st I couldn't even count the shots and drinks that were coming my way. You definately need to make it a weekend of your 21st. It's the best way to celebrate.

I have been sitting here trying to remember what the hell I did on my 21st birthday.

I honest to God have no recollection. And it's not because I was wild or partied, I know I didn't, but because it was just that uneventful.

I probably went over to the Sigma Chi house and chilled and had them buy me drinks (sweetheart privilege, lol).

My 21st Birthday was on a Monday too! Not that it stopped any of us from going out So at midnight on the 20th of March in 1995, we hit the one bar that was open (b/c it's a Sunday). It's sort of a tradition to do 21 shots, but obviously for girls, especially me, that's not going to happen. I figured I'd get to 10 and be on the floor. So, equipped with list in hand, I began the night. Each time I did a shot, one of the sisters signed my sheet. I remember getting sick once at the bar...and I made it to 17 shots. And MAN, was I sick, but I danced on a bar, nearly had sex with an ex (roommate came in and saved me!), fell down the steps of our old house, and threw up, in that order! The most fun I never want to have again

Exclamation wow...my 21st

Okay - not reccomended for anyone but here it goes.

For my birthday, i kinda did things backwards! I threw this "gonna be huge" party, bought WAY too much stuff (15 gallons of jungle juice) and a baby keg. now, my campus does not have houses period. there is one house (a real family-type house) that a bunch of guys pitched in and bought, and stuck their letters on it, but only like 4 guys can live there, and they have a chapter room on campus like the rest of us. anyway back to the story. i talked to a bunch of guys in one fraternity, who happened to own a a hole-in-the-wall building that was becoming a pretty well-known party place, and asked them if i could throw this "bash" there. I had only intended for my sisters to come, but upon speaking with these guys it was clear that i could not party in the brother's building and not invite all the boys. so it becomes a "my girls & your guys" party, but it was never a "social" party comes - random girlfriends (who i still don't know) were there, they were kicked out. a fight breaks out among the guys (there were even alumni at this shin-dig) one guy is lifted off the floor by his neck, and another guy is threatened with a gun ~~ complete mess. my best friend in my sorority is lead to believe rumors about me, and we've never gotten over that ~~ i lost a hat that i had to work very hard for (sweet hat!) and i got to puke in front of God and everybody. Add to this a random policeman driving by about every 15 minutes and me falling completely on my face on the sidewalk and you have my 21st - it took like 3 weeks to figure out everything that happened during that night - and most of it i have a feeling would have never happened if the guest list wasn't so limited. It was a good night (i suppose) but NEVER EVER will i do anything like that ever again.

like i said - this is not recommended~

Explination before you realize the math dont add up. I was 20 when I graduated from HS. Now dont go thinking im to dense to get out of highschool. When we moved to Fayette county from Mercer, Fayette county public schools felt that my Mercer county elementary education was one grade less than theirs. So I went into 2nd grade instead of 3rd grade when we moved. Then, when I got to 3rd grade the STATE OF KY decided that my rinky dink ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN FAYETTE COUNTY didnt have the proper reading ciriculum, and decided that my ENTIRE 3rd grade class must be held back. My elementary school life was utter hell yall, im telling ya.

I dont really remember much about my 21st. They said I had a really good time though. I was living in the dorms and pledging at the time. Our county quits selling beer at 12, but 1 county away they sell till one. Well, at 12, I hopped in my truck, went up one county, bought my 30 pack of High Life, and back to the dorms I go. Drank about 13 or so of the cube, went down to my RA's room, told him to kiss my ass, proceeded to the bathroom to pillage and plunder for a bit, then passed out. Got up the next morning, personally canceled all my classes, got a quick bite to eat and started drinking again. The last thing I remember was putting on cologne to go downtown later that night and the elevator ride to the lobby and im drawing a blank from there. I made it home safe and sound though so thats a plus. Nights like that I usually just try to find a grassy spot to lay down.
