So you can retroactively join Kappa Beta Gamma by passing a test? But the parenthetical information came in a sentence that starts out "NPC might not happen until years after your graduation" so the reader's logical assumption is that the reference is to NPC.

And that is news to me. That you can retroactively join an NPC after you graduate by passing a test? And, oh no...
