Thanks KappaStarGirl for explaining cluster/bump. This is the second year we are doing it, and I had a heck of a time trying to teach it to the new members. You just can't learn things like that from a diagram!

lyly-when does your recruitment begin?

Thanks all for your replys. Rush parties begin on Jan 31, and our first party is the 1 of february. I will not b there becasue I am a rho chi, so me and the other two chairs hae been crazy planning to get eerything set before we return to school on suday and have to face the questions from sisters. I think I am going to try and teach everybody the cluster bump method at our meeting before I fully disaffiliate (which includes moing out for a week). We even have packets that we are going to hand to everyone with everything planned to the minute so that there is no argument. OUr theme for the fisrt night is Snow White..I think it is going to work well.at least I hope. We have gotten one reply from the inites that we sent to alumni, and she said something that was quite upsetting to my co-chair. SHe said that the older alumni feel liek they are just being inited to fil the room, when in fact we asked them becasue they are our most valuable resource. I hope they all don't feel that way. I amreally nervous about this rush becasue last year we came out of formal rush with no new members. By the beginnign of april we were all so tired and morale had gone so low that we gave up on getting a class, so when i took this full year position,I was taking on more than just rush, I took on our survival. Thank you all for your suggestions any others are greatly appreciated
Kim

Try to explain the benefits of a smaller chapter. For example, pnm's who are leadership oriented might like the idea that there are more oportunities for leadership positions.

also, stress the sisterhood that you share (which you should always do!). However, with a small sisterhood, you can stress that it is a family and that you truly know each other.

You said that you are the last active chapter of you sorority. if you have plans to try and expand again, this could be a great selling point. (Not that you are the last chapter but that a pnm could have the opportunity to essentially refound a sorority. I know that would have impressed me as a "rushee"

Good Luck and Greek Love!
