So if some Greek Adviser chooses to interpret it differently, I'd take him/her on. Seriously. Just let me know, I'm in the mood to take on somebody. Yeah. I am. This is a battle I can fight and win. Oh yes indeed.
I'm with you. It's in black and white in the MOI and just as plain as it can be. I'll be right there with you!

You're in the car until the wheels fall off, Titchou. Count on it.

OK, just so I am clear.... bids given during COB are NOT binding for 1 year, just till the next formal recruitment on campus. Right?

Bids given during formal recruitment ARE binding for 1 year (not binding to the specific day, but beginning of next formal recruitment on campus as well.)

The result is that a girl who drops out after accepting a bid during formal recruitment is prohibted from COB the next semester. No such restriction on the girl who drops after accepting a COB bid. She can rush the next formal recruitment period.

Tell me if I missed something!

Correct, but the language used is "primary recruitment period" to account for schools who use a partially structured format as their primary recruitment. This change was approved fall 2011 and published in the March 2012 MOI 17th Ed. Last year there were two releases of the MOI, one in January and one in March.

Sister AXO Rush Advisor, you can download the March 2012 version on our website.

I'd still bring that MOI with the annotated page with me to the GA's office. That's such a new change, it wouldn't be unusual to see that not upheld. Stranger things have happened than Greek Life offices not following the letter of the law.

It's an "old" prison expression (one of my friends has been serving a life sentence since the mid 80s, no parole, and no I am not going to discuss it so don't ask, but that's who taught me this expression): "in the car" = aligned, in the posse, etc. There are variants: when you have a disagreement, you might get put in the back seat, or in the trunk. Speaking of Pitbull, oh - nevermind.

yup, this^^^. So all my posturing is just that - posturing, b/c it's in black and white, and that would be the thing to do - what you said, AOII Angel. Exactly. Thanks

The END. Until it comes up again. Which it will.

Let's start up a business, Titchou. We can meet with GAs everywhere because from what I've seen on these boards, there's a lot of pretty crazy stuff going on and someone needs to be the pit bull posse. It's that kind of day for me. You in?
