From what I heard, Tri-Delt sued SNL over that skit, but I don't know what ever happened.
That poster....ugh. Why does it remind me of those hideous 70's drive-in flicks that end up on USA at 4 in the morning??

The movie was filmed at USC last summer and I know quite a few people who worked on it -- even they say it is really bad (has no plot, etc.). I don't remember what thread it was, but I think I posted something about it back in August or September. It is actually a Disney film and the previous thread talked about the fact that you can't trust anyone in Hollywood to portray things truthfully.
We all felt really bad for ADP b/c they let their house be used for filming and their house is the DOG (delta omicron gamma) house. They had a sign out in the yard that said DOG during the filming. Not exactly the image anyone wants to portray.

they both sound like two great movies to go see, laugh at, and then be glad that greek life is nowhere near as bad as Hollywood wants it to be.

The "Going Greek" movie looks very stupid, but I saw a preview for "Sorority Boys" when I saw "Not Another Teen Movie" and it actually looks like it will be funny.

My understanding is that "Sorority Boys" promotes just about every negative sterotype about the greek system. There are a good sorority and a bad sorority and the plot involves fun things like the boys throwing dildos at the chapter house of the "bad" sorority, or the DOGs.
Unless they've done some pretty major editing of what was filmed, I find it hard to believe that anyone will find it humurous except for those who don't like the Greek system, who will use it as proof that the things that go on are what Greek life is all about.

Actually, from what I understand, this movie is about three guys that get kicked out of their fraternity and some how end up mascarading as members of the Delta Omicron Gamma (DOG) Sorority. While this does sound like the beginning of a possible train wreck, once the three guys get to know the girls, they realize how awesome they are and they help the girls get revenge on everyone that treated them like crap.
Will people get the wrong idea of Greek life because of this movie? It's possible...some Greek haters will say Greek Life is terrible no matter what. I reserve the right to change my mind once the movie comes out, but I think it might be entertaining. Maybe it will be like "Legally Blonde"...yes Elle was the stereotypical blonde, perfect, ditzy sorority girl, but in the end she was intelligent and you liked her. Perhaps this movie will have that quality. I think the movie "Sorority Rule" (which has now been put on hold) would have been worse. To check it out, go to:

Sorority boys looks like a remake of a movie made a decade or so ago about some fraternity pledges that masquerade as new girls in a sorority in order to (I think) steal their composite or something. And of course one of the guys developes a crush on one of the girls . . . and they all learn to be more sensitive.
Sorority Rule that Leslie mentions, actually reads to me like a composite of a lot of the Threads in the Rush forumn. Especially if you combined some of the dissapointed ones, with strangest things, strangest Rushees, and recount your experience.
But I bet they would be just fun entertainment

I checked out that site LeslieAGD. I think you're right. That movie would be a lot worse. Besides just being techincally incorrect ("pledges" and sisters wouldn't have that kind of contact to make her over),the stereotypes are a lot worse. And since its not hailed as a spoof and comedy, many wouldn't take it for fiction.

These movies seem silly and well on their way to the bottom shelf of your local movie rental place. I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about it. I certainly wouldn't spend $10 to see either flick. That is, if they are even made and released.

I wonder if this movie is going to be for mass release in theatres or just a limited area.
