Decent description from Wiki-
Quote:
Genres such as techno, drum and bass, downtempo, and ambient are among those encompassed by the umbrella term, entering the American mainstream from "alternative" or "underground" venues during the late 1990s

You probably have heard some at some point and just not realized what it was since there are several different genres within.

I know, I know.. the OP hates the fact that anyone says it, but I truly listen to everything. My being a musician might have something to do with it. I really do appreciate all kinds of music, and I listen to anything that sounds good.

I like older music, newer music, and everything in between. I like rock, rap, hip hop, punk, pop, metal, jazz, country, etc.

I will say that in my iPod, I have an abundance of music from the 90s... Nirvana, Green Day, Sister Hazel, Dave Matthews Band, Blink 182, Alanis Morissette, Days of the New, Pearl Jam, Fiona Apple, Eve 6, The Goo Goo Dolls, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, etc.

And my favorite band of all time is Third Eye Blind. Between the lyrics, the sound of the music, and Stephan Jenkins' voice, I can't get enough of them. I'm not sure I could pick just one song of theirs to label my favorite, but a few of them are:

"Wounded"

"I Want You"

"Blinded (When I See You)"

"Narcolepsy"

"Deep Inside of You"

You're not going to find much of Craig T. on itunes. At least not "Got that Thang." "Quality Time" is from that album. Check Amazon. You might find a nice used copy of it on there. Check out his "Darkm' n" album, too.

If you enjoy that kind of music, you'd also enjoy "Streetwise".

Don't underestimate jazz flavors man, because it can be mixed into just about anything including your thing.

Most as long as autotune and technobeats aren't involved. My most fave: Pre-LASERS Lupe, Nas, Wu, Kanye (with the noted exception of 808s & Heatbreak) etc. Currently liking: Kendrick Lamar, Dom Kennedy, Blu/Exile, Fashawn.
