I LOVE Texas
I was born and raised in San Antonio and now live in Austin.
I have a friend that went to Clear Lake but graduated in 89'-long time ago so i doubt anyone would know her.

I am not from Texas originally, but I lived in San Antonio for 7 years. We lived near Sea World, let me tell ya we had season tickets for that place and when your 8 years old its the best place on earth. I went to St. Lukes if anyone knows where that is (off of Callahan). I went back to visit my old "best friend" on our way down to Padre for Spring Break in 99. I miss Texas, so all of you that are there now be glad your not stuck in the middle of cornfields in Southern Illinois.

Hey all! I am from Dallas, but I'm in Galveston for nursing school (UTMB).I did my undergrad in Washington, D.C. at American University. I really don't like Galveston, but I do like Houston. I really miss Dallas though.

Me too...
I live in SA. Grew up on a ranch in the panhandle. God I dont miss that place. What sucks tho is that my mom sold our ranch and moved to Houston halfway through college. THAT was a change. Small town to HOUSTON. I am slowly learning my way around there, and will probably end up there next fall after I graduate. Job opportunities are too good there. Just not looking forward to the bugs, humidity and traffic.
Will also miss being so close to the Hill Country. My school sets on the edge of two zones, coastal plains and hill counrty. Literally, the hills begin in lot 10, and go for 125 miles. They are so awesome, and provide for good hunting. Of course the hunting down by Alice, Freer and Cotulla aitn bad either. Just get more hogs and less deer down there. No hogs (Javalina) in the hill country. Mean suckers they are. Also its cool to drive in the hills. I can spend hours doing that. Its my escape. Next year my escape will be limited to the tollway.

I tried to PM you, but got the following error message:

Hope to "talk" to ya soon.

I'm getting in on this one late but while I live in Los Angeles now, I grew up in Houston, went to Texas Christian, where I met my husband. I already know Carnation is from Houston also, but the other side of town.
My daughter goes to Southwest Texas in San Marcos. I would love to return to Texas, preferably to the Hill Country.

Hootie, she loves it. She is a Child Development major and they have a great department. She considered A&M and did not have enough hours to transfer from junior college out in LA, and she got accepted at TCU but did not really want to go there. SWT seems to be alot of fun, and the Zeta Chapter seems to be one of the strongest on campus.
SWT does have a bit of a rep as a party school, but then I have decided so do most schools, lol.

I really tthink you'd like it too. its awesome there. Probably one of my favorite campuses. Very hilly, great programs, and the people there are awesome. We party with the brothers from there and I can say enough good things about them and their school. Even tho they are our rivals, SWT rocks. (Plus the greek advisor used to be ours and he KICKS ASS). 20 mins to Austin, and 45 to San Antonio. Best of both worlds.
Bit o' Trivia.... SWT is the only university in Texas to have had a former President attend as an undergrad and graduate. WHOM you ask? LBJ graduated in the 30's with a degree in education.
Anyway I say go for it, you'll love it.
