LMAO!!!!!!! Yeah, I'd say that's one search you probably wouldn't want traced back to you, friend.

My guy & I talked about this last night, on a "If we had a 10 year old daughter would you be for or against getting the vaccine?" I liked his answer, and he liked mine. Your kid can be the purest child to walk the face of the earth, but what if some diseased nutjob raped her?

There's a vaccine available, it's incredibly irresponsible not to use it!

Not to mention, you are protecting them from the choices of their future partners...even if they get married and only ever have sex with their spouse. You can never be sure who the spouse had/will have sex with.

Because you can prevent your child from having a completely preventable form of cancer. Why not?

I thought I explained myself fairly clearly: your child could be pure as the driven snow, but could be raped and end up with cancer because of it. Why take the chance when one vaccine can stop it entirely?

Well it's not necessarily just rape (I get a little squicky with the whole rape=STDs!! trope). Your child could get married and get it from their spouse, for example.

Also, people that aren't "pure as the driven snow" don't deserve HPV with a side of throat or cervical cancer.

What you said. And your 16 year old sexually active daughter could be smart and use condoms and be on birth control and still contract HPV. It's about the only one that's regularly contracted skin to skin rather than mucus membrane or open wound. That's why there was such freaking out about the vaccine: "HOW WILL WE SCARE CHILDREN INTO KEEPING IT INTO THEIR PANTS WITH A VACCINE!!?!?!?!?!"

I would say that NOBODY deserves HPV or any STDs. Using the example of rape, however, gets to the people who are incapable of beliveng that their daughter or son will get horizontal with anything humonoid.

Approved as in insurance will pay for it, or approved as in that's the only age group it works on? Sorry I'm a little out of the loop on this whole thing.

Whether or not your insurance will cover it is a whole separate issue. FDA approval only means that clinical trials have proven the safety and utility of the vaccine for use in those populations.

My insurance will only pay for females to get it at this time.

^^^I'm not surprised. I got it when it first came out, and not many insurance companies were covering it for females at that point. They will in time, no doubt. It's just unfortunate because at $130/shot x 3 shots it is not cheap.

That's what I meant, I wasn't sure whose approval we were talking about. Thanks
