A franchise owner is not representative of the whole.
I love Panera's Broccoli Cheddar soup in a bread bowl, in a regular bowl, with a mouse, in a house.

As for me? Panera bread bowl with French Onion soup WITH the baguette on the side smeared with butter. Carbs AND fat all in one delicious dish! Then you can even buy some yummy desert. I'm a big Panera fan.

At the Renaissance Festival a couple weeks ago, they have chili in a CORNbread bowl. ZOMG...awesomesauce.
Panera - I'm going with whatever the featured low-cal salad is and a Mediterranean Veggie You Pick Two. However, I'm very tempted to try their chili and cornbread...has anyone had it?

Same here! I also have a "surprise" on my card since it was my birthday recently.
I'm a big fan of Panera's tomato soup in the breadbowl. Croutons, tomato soup goodness and more bread. What's not to love?

So, the mac and cheese is good? I've been wanting to try it but I keep going back to either the French Onion soup or the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich.
Y'all are making me hungry and all I have here in my office is a can of Progresso Chicken Soup

FYI-they did a very slow roll out of the cards in my area. Apparently Cincinnati and Dayton had them months ago, and they became available in Columbus in the last month or so.
I'm also addicted to Panera's iced green tea. So wish I could replicate it at home.

In keeping with the paean to Panera's:
NPR: Panera Opens Second "Pay What You Can" Shop
According to The Detroit News, Panera learned from the Clayton [MO] shop that "20 percent of patrons give more than the suggested donation, 60 percent give about the same amount and 20 percent leave less." There are no cash registers; just donation boxes.

Mmmm I love broccoli cheddar from Panera too.
And their bagels
And their sandwiches
And their mac-n-cheese
And their lemonade
Panera is one of my top favorite chain restaurants.

YESSSSSS. Panera mac and cheese > life.
Oh, and for the record, I'm #teamnothing when it comes to dressings for wings/salads. I'm weird.

Lucy you are making me hungry! Especially since we are snowed in today, a bread bowl sounds perfect. Too bad Panera isn't within walking distance. Or in my house.
And I agree- the white cheddar mac & cheese is tasty. I'm not a fan of orange cheeses but love white cheddar. Mmm...

There is a Panera on the way to my parents' house, and another five minutes from it. Now I'm going to have to stop and buy food.

There's a smattering in Chicago but only one in the loop that I know of. It used to be close to my work, but the we moved offices and it's a 15 minute walk away. I still do it from time to time, when I feel the hankering.
