I have already told all my friends they can go drink on the beach but I am going to Harry Potter world. My family is pretty loyal to Disney, but I'm going. It's my current dream. And I would fork over $40 for a wand because I am stupid when it comes to Harry Potter.

My bf and I are going in Feb. I've just had him watch all of the movies. I was in Orlando in mid Dec, but I only did Disney because the HP park hadn't opened yet. The lines were not bad at all because I was there before the holiday crowd. We're hoping to catch the same luck in Feb.

I made my own wand many years ago and someone stole it. I coughed up $30 for a Hermione's wand replica (10 3/4" vinewood and dragon heartstring that lights up for "Lumos") and it's lost in storage somewhere....but I do have one! Late at night, I would read by wandlight.

feb. should be a good time to go-unless you go around a federal holiday. avoid those like the plague.

That's a good point. I just googled it. It looks like President's Day is Feb 21. We're heading to Orlando Feb 19. We'll just save the HP park for that Tuesday.

I'm too lazy to find a thread about the movie. I'm disappointed at the news that the first installment of Deathly Hallows will not be 3-D

FYI - you can get Universal tickets for 1,000 Coke Rewards points. My daughter and fiance have theirs. Can't beat FREE.

Wish I'd known! We were in Orlando last week but opted to go to Disney since we only had 3 days and we'd heard that the lines were brutal at HP.

I'm not. I think 3-D can ruin a lot of movies and it's way too overdone now. I'm excited to see this movie and just that, a movie.

Besides, who wants to see Dobby's death in 3-D? It was bad enough on paper.

I wonder if his grave is anywhere in Orlando? That would have been a nice touch.

You have a point. The Clash of the Titans remake was awful as were the 3-D effects.
