Exactly. Are all of those things she wore to work or were a few of them personal outfits? Because the business-looking ones were fine, except the turtleneck, which is the "blessed" woman's enemy. They make people wanna throw us in the ocean to see if we can float.

Her stilettos would be against our dress code. 2.5" is the maximum heel height allowed in my work environment. Oh, and we are required to wear hose. And no open toes.

However.. who has all these model type photos of themselves at work? Who has any photos of themselves at work?

I think those pictures might have been taken after the fact by the newspaper. They definitely look professional.

Every company has a dresscode--while you'd think banks would err on the conservative side, if you're working the sales sides, in that you have a lot of face time with clients, you really need to dress to impress.

Especially in the bigger cities, i think. Men have it so easy - throw on a suit, tie and make sure your socks go with your shoes. A lot of the top (male) bankers have personal shoppers so they look the part but not over the top/borderline inappropriate, which is what this woman is accused of doing.

Re: the pics, these were a spread for a story in the Village Voice, which I'm sure did a spread specifically for the story, to show her in a certain light. I can't imagine she wears ALL of those outfits.

Showing the difference between her being "fully dressed" (turtleneck, pants and jacket) and... not so much (the "All About the Bensons" shots, pic #2, and MAYBE #3) proves (i'm hoping) that she's not on slutbucket mode every day, but if she wanted to be all the way turnt up, she very well could.

I haven't seen her photos but I imagine it's like Vivica Fox in "Two Can Play That Game." Nicely tailored suits and heels with men who act like they haven't seen a pretty woman with curves before.**

**Yes, there are inappropriate clothes that women and men can wear in the workplace. Looking wonderful doesn't mean that you need to necessarily accentuate your curves and muscles AT WORK. It is tolerable in moderation but there is a point where it goes too far---especially if you're having other problems doing your job.

LOL this is true.

Perhaps the woman in question is hoping that fact will be glanced over as well. How else is she going to afford all those fancy outfits?

Now that you say it, I can kind of see that. Except she's probably being viewed as more of a "Connie"

No, if you look at the slide show, some are definite model shots and some are provided by the lawyer's office and show 'examples' of her work clothes. The only problem with those is the shoe height if there's a restriction on that, the model shots are more bank inappropriate.

I also have a feeling she didn't keep a jacket on all day. Without the jacket, some of those outfits could be questionable for a conservative work environment as well.

I agree.

For instance, some camisoles are only meant to be worn under a shirt or jacket. They are not tank tops or shirts unless you are going for a different kind of look. Taking off the jacket or shirt is a BOOM CHICKA WOW WOW.

Another movie reference: In "Why Did I Get Married, Too," Tyler Perry's wife was going to wear a sexy black satin and lace camisole and underwear combo to work the next day. He was like "uhmmmm....."

Ok, a. I really hope these shots are professionally done, because otherwise she was essentially posing at work, instead of doing actual work.
b. If I saw the people who worked at my bank dressed in some of those outfits, I would definitely be taken aback, and quite honestly, a little concerned. I'm not THAT conservative, and I understand that I live nowhere close to New York and I'm a student, but I don't look to my banking institution to give me fashion advice. As long as you are dressed professionally, I'm good. I'd prefer the people handling my investments and the like to be focused on that, instead of "being too hot" (damn, that must be such a curse for her lol).

I live in DFW, and when I worked for a bank in the area, the "real" outfits were not uncommon.

The bankers that looked frumpy or unkempt didn't seem to stay long, and those who dressed the part, so to speak, had healthy portfolios.

Of course, I'm not saying the sexiness was ALL that kept those bankers afloat. It didn't hurt, though.
