The new Governor of NC is also a KKG - Beverly Purdue was a Kappa at the University of Kentucky. She is the first female governor of NC.

Yes, it is. Kappa at Dartmouth is an elite chapter, too. I don't think it's a coincidence...anyone with the skills to succeed as a politician is likely to be very, very good at Rush.

I think Sen. McCaskill is the only Theta currently in the Senate, but we do have several members of the House (I don't remember their names, but they were recently mentioned in a Theta article)

Another NPC note, Sen. Nancy Kassebaum (Theta) was the first woman to be elected in her own right to the Senate!
