No one can tell you whether you should resign membership. You need to look at your chapter with an objective eye and see what you can do to improve it. You are at the age in your chapter where you should be recruiting up a storm and involved in many activities. You help set the attitude and climate in your chapter. Your posts seem to be filled with the attitude of "what is my organization doing for me" rather than "what can I do for my organization". Even your desire for a leadership position shows that thought--are you just wanting a title to add to your resume? Or do you truly want the hard work that comes along with being a leader?
I realize this may seem a little harsh, but through my years as an active and alumnae member, I've learned that what I get from my organization has a direct correlation to what I've put into it. Being a part of a sisterhood is not all about gifts, songs, flowers, and notoriety. It's about hard work, strong beliefs and values, and putting those values into action. I enjoyed being a collegian, but I have great satisfaction from the work I do as an alumna--I know I live my values through the work I do for Chi Omega. Is it always a happy time? Definitely not, especially when difficult decisions are being made. But the long evenings of meetings, weekends spent from home, and hard work are gratifying to me as an alumna, because I know I am making a difference. I wouldn't give up that work for anything, and I wouldn't even trade it for more years as a collegian.
