Ok, I'm going to admit it. My Cougs suck this year. We are terrible. I think we'll be lucky to pull out one more win (hopefully in two weeks against those UW Dawgs). But you know what, I'll be there next week, cheering on as usual. Who knows, we could win!!!
And on a side note, GO USC. It pains me to say that, but they make the Pac-10 look good, since the rest of us all seem to be having problems.

And who the hell is this guy thinking that the ACC has better teams than the SEC? I'm sorry, but look at the rankings and you can tell that the SEC outweighs ACC any day. Considering for the majority of the season, 2 of the top 3 teams were SEC, and the one that wasn't was definitely NOT ACC (USC). That's just crazy.

True...Now the question is where are we going? In the paper, they said probably Music City if we loose to Fla. and Clemson, Peach if we beat one of them and back to Outback if we beat both. Honestly, I don't think we're going to be Fla. (but I didn't think we would beat Tenn. either) and we may have a chance with Clemson (especially if the game is close and in the last quarter ) I want to go to the Peach Bowl (family, don't worry about hotel, take MARTA to the Georgia Dome).
And yes, SEC is way better than the ACC. The SEC didn't have to bring in other schools to be competive in football.

Yeah, a return to the Rose Bowl would be nice.

Also, again spare me with the "we beat them like this and you beat them like that" you know that every game is played differently and you can't judge the "way" a game is going to go by that. That is why I HATE the "voting" thing with NCAA football. A WIN IS A WIN - Arkansas could have been having a good day the day we played them etc. (Alabama beat Tenn, and Tenn beat LSU so does that mean we are going to beat LSU - Not that simple)
I think that, it doesnt matter what I think. Alabama should be # 3 this week. (unless the "voters" don't think we "belong" @ #3) I am more worried about LSU then USC. I personally wouldnt put Alabama up agains USC RIGHT NOW. Our offensive line is weak. However your offense wouldnt look so great against an Alabama or Auburn Defense. <check the stats
USC is the Number 1 offense in the country and that is earned not voted on. Alabama is the #2 defense in the country and "thank God" that is earned and not voted on.
I have no idea how USC would do in the SEC. I guess yall would do pretty good this year - not because "the SEC is Down this year" but because USC is good.
I think that with the system the way it is right now every team that goes undefeated (with any kind of schedule) should be screaming, spitting angry that they don't GET A CHANCE at the championship. And LSU can say that they are NATIONAL CHAMPS 2002. And, AUBURN should be able to say that they are NATIONAL CHAMPS 2004. Just because some schmo voter in Wyoming or where ever thinks that USC could beat Auburn (or whoever) doesn't mean that it would happen. WIN IT ON THE FIELD.
One more thing, If, by some small chance, Alabama beats LSU and Auburn, and wins the SEC championship, (I know that is a HUGE if) and USC plays Alabama and wins by 1 point or 30 points, it wouldnt mean that USC is better then the entire SEC it would mean that USC was better then Alabama that day and there fore would EARN their NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP. I know, you would think that would be a given and redundant statement. But, mark my words some sports writer would take that win as proof of the accuracy of the voting system.
WOW i am sorry for droaning (sp?) on an on. I am really enjoying this conversation.

Connie. You are telling me that you believe USC pays their players? Well, I don't know. But I do know this. If USC is paying their players atleast they don't get caught. I hate to be mean about this but USC fan isn't as fanatical as Alabama fan. You know. Because USC fan probably has a life and doesn't care whether not a 5 star recruit goes to their school. They will get over it. Unlike Alabama fan whose life revolves around college football because, well, basically that is all that there is to live for out there. But hey I love the SEC and all their fanatical fans. The SEC has the best rivalries, the most hatred, best traditions and best fans. So yeah I guess it is good to be fanatical.
Alabama is #2 in the country in defense. Yeah man, I gotta admit. That win against Florida was awesome. You guys held them to what? 3 points? Whats even more impressive is that Alabama has also shut down vaunted offenses like Arkansas, Ole MIss, Miss State, Southern Miss, a 3-5 Tennessee team and NCAA powerhouses like Utah State and Middle Tenn State.
USC's defense is something that people talk about a lot. Heres the thing. USC's defense right now has walk ons, converted wide recievers, scout players and male cheerleaders starting. I have never seen a squad so injured before. I don't know what it is but these dudes are banged up like hell. But they are improving week by week which is all me and Amycat can ask for. These guys are mostly freshman and sophomores and lost a TON of starters from previous years. But you know what? The points they are giving up are still against legit offenses (Notre Dame, Oregon, Arizona State, Washington St). All those other points you see these Trojans giving up is during garbage time. Garbage time is usually around the 2nd quarter when USC is up 45-0 and Pete decides to be nice and let a bunch of Rudys play. Anyways when it matters the most. they step up. Pete is great at making adjustments and the injuries are becoming less and less. Now you will start to see all the 5 star recruits come back from their petty injuries like mono or getting stung by a bee or getting rejected by an Alpha Phi. Whatever it is. Right now USC's D is ranked 33 I think. But believe me by seasons end it will get lower.
Amy will nod her head on this one...the area of concern for the Trojans is their lack of care for punt and kickoff coverage. They SUCK in that department so if a team plans on beating USC they should definately exploit that.
Ok and your take on " if USC beats Alabama by 30 or 1 still doesn't mean they are the better team....". WHAT? What are you drunk? Well then what the hell does that mean? Why even better play the game?
Why not play it like this according to your mentality:
RING RING RING:
Alabama (all groggy) : uhhhhh hello
USC: Sup BRAH! Hey are you doin alright today?
ALabama: uhhhh no man...not to good.
USC: Ahhh ok. Well I'm doing really good. So I guess I'm the better team today
Alabama: Yyyeah man. Looks like it
USC: Ahh don't worry man. You can be the better team tommorow if I don't feel good.
What you just said totally takes away from what Alabama has done this season. So next time some Florida fan comes up to you and says " hey man, nice win vs us". you should say " ahhhh don't feel so bad Gator. We were the better team that day, but you are better than us 364 days out of the year!"
Oh yeah. You know how the White Sox beat the Astros in the world series? Yeah that doesn't mean anything. Because the White Sox were the better team than the Astros for 4 days.
Ok someone give me a shotgun because I am killin it.
What is funny is that I sound like a guy that really hates the SEC. But in reality, I actually LOVE the SEC. It is honestly my favorite conference to watch (that and ofcourse the Pac 10). I love the fans, the traditions and the rivalries. I feel they are 2nd to none.

The dude who wrote the article is some dude from Atlanta. Supposedly he is a GTech guy so naturally...
Anyways you can't deny what he says. Most of it is true. The ACC is a bad ass conference. No doubt the SEC has been better than the ACC in the past. But that is what it is. The past.
He brought up good points in naming the ACC powerhouses (although I don't think he shuold have named BC). Miami, Va Tech and FSU. I'd put them up anyday against whoever the SEC considers their top 3. I'll say Florida, Georgia and LSU (I would say Alabama but according to Connie, it was only that one day that Alabama was better than Florida). Like he said...the ACC has alot of competitive teams (Uva, GTech, Clemson, Maryland, BC)...but so does the SEC.
what should really happen is for the ACC and the SEC to just have an all out ghetto brawl. Everyone vs everyone. Top to bottom. But ofcourse what will happen is South Carolina vs Clemson. WHICH I THINK IS FREAKING COOL BTW. And as Jitterbug knows, I cannt WAIT for that game baby. I'll be rockin out with my cock out baby. My gamecock that is. Yyyyeah.

Joe Pa is the SHIT! I'm glad Penn State is back. BCS bowl game for State this year but next year you guys will be rank very high considering most of the team this year are freshman and sophomores. Seriously I am so happy that Penn State is back.
Surviving any conference is rough, simply because conference play is that much tougher. The teams are familiar with your style of play, fans are more involves and more pride is at stake. Each year every conference beats up on each other. But seriously The Big 10 this year has been AWESOME! Michigan should have just let you guys win so perhaps the Big 10 could get NC consideration!
Seriously every week some Big 10 team thinks they are the shit because they just beat someone who they shouldn't have beat. Then the nxt week they lose to someone they shouldn't have lost to. Gah...=(.
Look at their standings so far!
Penn State 6-1 9-1
Ohio State 5-1 7-2
Wisconsin 5-2 8-2
Northwestern 4-2 6-3
Michigan 4-2 6-3
Minnesota 3-3 6-3
Iowa 3-3 5-4
Michigan State 2-4 5-4
Indiana 1-5 4-5
Purdue 1-5 3-6
Illinois 0-6 2-7

Don't forget about Ga./Ga. Tech. Don't Fla. and Fla. State play each other too?

Bobby the Don and CarolinaDG,
I have bad news.
If you plan to stay home and not go to Williams-Brice Stadium to watch the Carolina/Clemson game, you have to fork up $30 to watch it on TV. That's right, ESPN, CBS and Jefferson Pilot have passed on the game and it will be on PPV. There are even worst match ups on TV that will be on those channels. Game starts at 7 p.m.
For that kind of $, I better well go (for a couple of bucks more). And that way, Bobby will get to see the fights in the stands I talked about because fans will have spent the whole day drinking.
Signed,
JB13 (BKA Gamecock Fan)

Oooooooh...This will be the only time you will ever hear me say this but I wish I lived in the Carolinas instead of california on Novemeber 19th.
Anyways, I was looking at the schedule and I really really really really REALLY hope they show LSPoo at Ole Miss out here. Hey, Ole Miss may suck but they are the reason why i defend the SEC vs other USC fans. I hate LSWho and I think their fans are the scum of the universe. Classless fans who don't even know how to spell "Go".
And go Gamecocks!
