Aside from a few extremists, who cares what those guys think anyhow?
I'm not sure whether the question being asked is legitimate. The trouble with all of these cases so far is that they all lack standing. I would think if Hillary Clinton or John McCain brought a lawsuit, there'd be enough to at least survive an FRCP 12(b)(6) motion.

What basis are these people claiming? He was born in Hawaii, one of the states. I don't see how they can claim any issue with that. McCain I can see people arguing because it was a little bit irregular.

Agreed - I was thinking about Romney 2012 as soon as McCain 2008 was over.
Then again, I know very well that I'm pretty biased on the issue.

How is that interesting? The officer acted within the scope of his authority and from reading the open source articles on this case I really fail to see ANY type of sincere racial bias or profiling going on. If anybody's a bigot it's that WASPy neighbor that called the 5-0 on Dr. Gates in the first place
I feel bad for the officer to be honest, he could of had his career ruined while Dr. Gates will most likely profit greatly from this encounter in the form of more speaking engagements, book deals, and maybe even a made for TV movie.
BTW I hate the posts where people use the example of "I've seen a white guy get away with saying more to a cop blah blah blah". Every cop is DIFFERENT in the way they respond to situations, unless you've seen the actual officer in question letting caucasians off "easier" you have no point so please shut up.

I still think that everybody blew this out of proportion, which is a shame. For instance look at the mess happening in NJ, but every is focusing on this, while the other thing needs more of our focus I think. Corruption on a major level and international smuggling of body parts? These are cases when federal law was actually broken, but did Obama speak on these? If he did, I apologize but still.

True^^
I should have stated Associated Press, but I like to think people can be a bit more mature. Thank you for pointing it out.

Sometimes, that's a dangerous assumption to make around here, haha.

You know, deepimpact, if you would contribute anything of substance as opposed to making statements that are dripping with attitude, you might discover that you don't have to defend yourself so often. Out of respect for E. Lynn Harris, I didn't want to respond to your comment to Munchkin in that thread. A stopped watch is correct twice a day. Think about that when, referring to TMZ, you say it's credible because it's been accurate on more than one occasion.

I just heard some of the 911 tape and the steps the officer took on that day.
Assuming that none of this information has been altered, this is another instance of how people's first response to something is not always the most accurate one. It supports my opinion of this whole situation.
