Director: Michael Schultz
Duration: 94 minutes
Country: USA
From the best selling novel and stage play, WOMAN THOU ART LOOSED, comes the film adaptation of Bishop T.D. Jakes’ tale of dysfunction, isolation and finally, inspiration. Woman Thou Art Loosed tells the story of Michelle Jordan (Kimberly Elise), a young woman who grows up in an environment of abuse and molestation by the hands of her mother’s boyfriend Reggie (Clifton Powell); while her mother Cassie (Loretta Devine) looks the other way. These circumstances lead young Michelle into the dark abyss of drugs, prostitution and prison. While incarcerated, Michelle sends Bishop Jakes (Bishop T.D. Jakes, playing himself) a letter seeking a visit. With the prodding of her mother, Jakes visits Michelle and through a series of flashbacks he uncovers the dark past that has lead to Michelle’s drug abuse, association with abusive men and finally murder.

They keep this sistah workin' don't they? She is not the "typical" Hollywood actress so I am happy that she gets quality roles.

Hmmm...
Who does B think she is fooling by coming out with a movie? Like Refined Diva said, she more-than-likely doesn't have anything interesting to say, besides her parents efforts for her to reach stardom and the struggles with the various former DC members...but again, we already know about this. She needs to go on and marry ole Jay and wait and make a movie when she gets older and has more to say...
And ole pregnant Solange...I don't know who she thought she was fooling either (like we didn't know why you really got married...And Tar-jay (not that I don't like Target)? REALLY? Yeah, sure...

Re: Rick James' children
I knew about Tazman, that's the son Rick had with Tanya Hijazi, who was convicted with him in the torture case. I didn't know about the other two kids.

Well is the picture caption wrong, cuz I'm reading it as though Tazman is the young man in the middle of the pic. He was convicted with him?

No, Tazman's mom, Tanya, was convicted with Rick. Sorry for the confusion.

Who wants to hear Michelle sing? I've heard a few of her songs on the gospel station, and I think she should lip sync. Talk about a whining goat!

Ok, I don't know about the rest of you, but everyone here in Philly, D-Ware and of course NJ are still tripping this early morning because the Gov of NJ Jim McGreevy is resigning. He came out and said that he was gay yesterday. He only came out because he was about to be outed by the guy that is suing, this is the only reason that he came out. Every on the radio and the news are saying that he should feel proud because he came out.....my opinion is he only came out because he was about to be outed.
I just feel bad for this guys youngest daughter I believe she is 11. In his statement which I saw from the beginning he said that he was knew he was different from the time he was young and I thought at this time that he was about to say he was gay. Well he said that he was married to a woman when he was younger and they had a daughter, and then she left him and went back to her homeland of British Columbia, and then he met and married his current wife and they have the 11. My thing is he had an out when the first wife left him, why marry another woman when you knew you were gay from your younger days.
I'm thinking that the first wife left his azz because she found out that he was gay.

EXACTLY!
I saw this on several news shows last night. One of them played his statement in full. I was tripping. On one of the shows, Pat Buchannon was a commentator. I was ready for Ol' Pat to go off but he didn't. He was "sort of" sympathetic.
The whole affair situation is bad enough, but the lengths that he went through to keep his lover aound. He tried to get the man a job as head of NJ Homeland Security but loverboy couldn't pass the background check. He is an Isreali national and our people couldn't confirm some his whole story. Then loverboy went on to 4 more jobs that McGreevey arranged that he STILL wasn't qualified for and the last one he was making $110,000.
Apparantly, the affair ended 2 years ago but loverboy is just now suing. He offered to "settle" for $5 million but McGreevey said no. Supposedly, there are going to be charges of rape and that's what added to McGreevey's departure.
