I have a friend who got pregnant on the patch. The doctor was like, "oh, well, sometimes it slides or does not adhere well if you have oily skin. I guess you are one of those people." Like "yeah, oops sorry you got pregnant" softens that blow.

Unhappy Question about BirthControl pills

Anyone here know if a guy's nut can cause a woman's body to require stronger pills or make her go crazy? Like this is what I want to know, lately I've been eating pumpkin seeds to make my nut more fertile. I have a friend who is having a hard time with trying to have a baby with his wife. They've been unsuccessfull. He thinks it may be because he did so much steroids but I'm arguing its his wife that has the busted up gear, not him. Anyhow, it got me thinking and so just to be safe for the future I've been eating pumpkin seeds. I don't want a kid right now but I also want to know if my stuff works. Anyhow, my girl said she just had to get a stronger BC Rx, she was acting really bitchy and when she went to the Doctor she put her on a stronger pill and I was wondering if it's because of me eating pumpkin seeds. I'm a little skeptical about this because if it's that strong to make her get a stonger pill, I don't want a kid right now and I'm wanting to know if I should stop eating the seeds. That and I don't think that I should subject her body to stronger pills because of me eating those damn seeds.

Anyone have an answer?

The strength of the pill needed is determined by the woman's hormones, not the man's.

Go get a sperm count done and maybe you won't have to eat seeds (that sounds disgusting).

The gross, but true answer? Perhaps she was having breakthrough bleeding. That is one reason doctors would prescribe a stronger pill. Or, she might have hormonal issues. Then, a stronger drug might be required to bring them to normal levels.

But, no. You eating mass quantities of pumpkin seeds is not the reason.

While it might stroke your ego to think that she needed stronger pills because of you, it's not the reason. For reasons stated above and others doctors change women's prescriptions.

As for your friend and his wife, it may very well be that it's his problem, especially if he did roids. He should get a sperm count done.

What the hell is breakthrough bleeding and how in the world does a woman have hormonal issues after puberty? She's not having menapause, she's in her mid 20s.

33girl...it's not really all that bad to eat. I turn them into puree with oil and eat it on toast.

Craig, ANY woman can have hormonal issues. Hormones fluctuate throughout a woman's life. They can change from month to month. When you take birth control pills, you are taking hormone pills -- literally. So, if you are increasing the amounts of hormones in your body to fool your body into thinking it no longer needs to ovulate, you often have problems. Women have to switch types of pills, strengths of pills, even different methods of getting the hormones into their bodies. (Some other methods are NuvaRing, Depo shots, BC patch, etc.)

Breakthrough bleeding is any bleeding or spotting at any other time of the month other than a woman's actual time of the month.

Turns out they in fact lied to me because the generic form is still on the market (thanks to the lovely pharmacist for telling me this).

So because I'm so irregular I'm on Ortho Tri Cyclin. I'm so bad at taking pills. If I were sexually active right now (which I'm not) I'd be knocked up. I'm horrible. I don't take them at the same time each day. Sometimes the morning, then afternoon or evening. I'm so bad.

I think I'm going to go to a different doctor and try to get on Depo again or try the patch. I think the patch would be easier for me to remember than a pill daily.
I used to be on a shot called Lunelle. It was once monthly. I loved it until my phamacist called to tell me that it had been recalled. And since I couldn't figure out when to start a new form of birth control, I was late

I am now on the Nuvaring (I am not going to explain it here--look it up if you want to know). It is great. You never feel it and you only have to worry about it once a month.

I just started it for this very reason (I also got the pink & black bag). The other bc gave me horrendous cramps and breakthrough bleeding - so I hope the seasonale is better.

I saw the gyno today and got a new prescription for Desogen...oddly, very excited about this! I haven't had a period since March so it will be good to feel "normal" again!

Anyway, in US Weekly usually in the back there are advertisements for different companies. I remember a few times seeing something about a Pill pack. It is a decorative pack that has an alarm that sounds when it is time to take the pill. I can't remember the web address and did a google seach with no luck. If anyone knows what I am talking about, can you please give me the information? I was always good at taking the pill first thing in the morning, but now that I get up at 5:30am a few days a week, I think having that extra reminder would be great!

Thanks for those who know what I am babbling about!

Anyone know of a lo-hormone BC that can come in generic? My new benefits for my job jack up my name brand Rx costs so I'm in the market for a new one. And I don't want Depo either...

One of my sisters is on it and she only had a problem once or twice. For me it's all about the nuvaring though.
