I was at the Texas - Colorado game yesterday, and the USC - Notre Damn game was not over when we were done. Everyone made tracks to the nearest tv - in the concessions areas, team store, alum center and watched the end of the game. The stands were empty but the under-stadium was full. People were sceaming and yelling so loud you could hear them 2 blocks away from the stadium.
Boy, were we disappointed (and I did NOT want to have to be for Notre Damn.)

Last night they showed that Michigan was now ranked higher than Michigan State. Why aren't they on the list?

Wow. I wasn't at the game but I did just see this on our facebook Michigan Football group. That's pretty sad that people have to act like this.
Quote:
writes: After the game I walked down by where that big mass of Penn State fans were, and apparently those bastards smashed up a bunch of our benches after they lost. There were huge sections of the bleachers missing, with pieces of wood all over the place. What the hell? Just cause we beat you doesn't mean you have to vandalize our stadium...
|
BTW... they're not that hard to smash either. A couple kids accidentally broke one a year or so ago just jumping up and down from a touchdown. So it's possible.

Penn state has some of the most disrespectful fans I have ever seen in the history of Big Ten football. For some reason they were under the impression that a validated ticket allows them to sit anywhere they please, so that is how a big group of them got in the middle of the student section...that is BULLSHIT!!! Where is crowd enforcement when you need it. Not only that, but they were spitting chewing tobacco all over the bleachers, smoking in the middle of the stands, knocking our students over every chance they got, and I even got into a fight with one of them during the fourth quarter. I understand them being bitter, but there should be some level of respect for the fact that they were in OUR STADIUM, in OUR TOWN, and LOOSING TO OUR TEAM.
|
Assigned seating in the Big House is really really important, especially to the students because they work hard each year to get better and better seats. It's a whole seniority thing. It's not fair that somehow these fans got into the seats of those privileged to have student tickets. I'm not surprised that they got past security cuz crowd enforcement has been really bad. They pretty much don't care unless the aisles get really crowded. And smoking is a huge no no and why would you be that disrespectful in the first place?

Its not hard to get regular student tickets. People sell them all of the time. Michigan students shouldn't sell their student tickets to students from the opposing school.
Tickets for us sold out as soon as they went on sale. Its not our fault that we got into their student section.
Michigan fans need to stop whining. You won, get over yourselves. And they aren't innocent, they've trolled PSU related messageboards and basically become cocky over a last minute win. I was angry but it was a good game and I didn't hate Michigan fans until now. I can see why Ohio State hate yall so much.

FWIW, among Big 10 schools (and we've traveled to almost every stadium in the conference) and for sake of comparison, OSU fans have a stellar reputation . . .
UM, not so much.

I highly doubt that a large enough group of Michigan student section sold their tickets to PSU fans.
I don't think it's whining. Yeah they shouldn't be writing stupid messages like that... that's childish and immature and being a sore loser and it's kind of embarrassing if it is going beyond the "woohoo we beat you haha" that everyone does. But at least they're not doing physical and monetary damage to something that the mature people are trying to enjoy. I'm not saying that UM fans haven't done stupid shit in the past. (I've personally never seen it but I'm sure they did) I'd be saying the same thing about them and I'm sure a Michigan official (coach, whatever) would say something. It's embarrassing.
And don't hate on me for taking pride in something that I love. I'm not on the boards making fun of PSU fans, am I? So no need to sit there and say "Blah blah I hate Michigan fans now, no wonder everyone hates Michigan".
I could say that I hate Wisconsin fans for the almost fight my car had with one of their cars a few years ago, but that's also childish.

Harris Poll | USA Today |
The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame
is responsible for the weekly tabulation and release of the Bowl Championship Series Standings.
EXPLANATION:
Team percentages are derived by dividing a team's actual voting points by a maximum 2850 possible points in the Harris Interactive Poll and 1550 possible points in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
Six computer rankings calculated in inverse points order (25 for #1, 24 for #2, etc.) are used to determine the overall computer component. The best and worst ranking for each team is dropped, and the remaining four are added and divided by 100 (the maximum possible points) to produce a Computer Rankings Percentage. The six computer ranking providers are Anderson & Hester, Richard Billingsley, Colley Matrix, Kenneth Massey, Jeff Sagarin, and Peter Wolfe. Each computer ranking accounts for schedule strength in its formula.
The BCS Average is calculated by averaging the percent totals of the Harris Interactive, USA Today Coaches and Computer polls.
On January 4, 2006 the Rose Bowl will host the BCS National Championship Game and determine which team will be presented The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's MacArthur Trophy, awarded to college football's National Champion since 1959, as well as the ADT National Championship Trophy on behalf of the American Football Coaches Association.

Wow so Michigan lucked out big time... again. I'm getting tired of these overtimes. Can't they just stop playing like shit and win a game normally without giving us all heart attacks?
Good game Hawkeyes.
