highs:
I am getting a kitten tomorrow, unless this crappy weather continues. Her name is Dolce (at the humane society it was shortcake ... so it fits in that it still is something sweet). She is black except for white on her chest and front paws.
lows:
this icy/sleety/cold weather
all the work I have to do before I teach class tom.

congrats on the new kitten! I love my cats and would be so lonely without them!
I hate to brag about the weather here but I am going to anyways Sunny with high in mid 70's, clear skies-it was an absolutely beautiful day! I saw the weather on the news and can't believe how different it is in the mid west. I think my lucky stars everyday I live here.
Lows: my car died, RIP, it was 9 years old, I was planning on keeping it for another 2 years. I am so sad-I loved that car.
Highs: since my car died I purchased a new one-my dream car-BMW 330i convertible. I pick it up on Thursday. It is steel blue-very pretty. It has manual and automatic transmission (I think those are the proper terms). I will finally have heat again so when the weather turns cold I won't freeze my a$$ off on the ride to and from work.
another Low-car payments-I haven't had one for almost 3 years. It will take some getting use to.

AXO Alum- She just says that I made something out of nothing. So much for validation of emotions with her! UGH!
I used to get that too. I HATE it when someone negates my feelings!
Cash78mere-Did your cousin end up pledging? I'm sorry that happened to her. It sucks!
Everyone seems to have great "good" news!
Highs-Almost finished with the backyard.
Lows-Still not finished with the backyard!
HA! Every silver lining has a cloud!

Lows: We had to put our sweet dog to sleep this weekend unexpectedly. It has been rather devastating for me and MrAXO_MOM_3. A special thanks to AggieAXO for her words of experience, wisdom, and support. And on that note, we'll move to the highs...
Highs: Sometimes I'm just amazed and overwhelmed by this bond we all share as sisters of Alpha Chi Omega's. Knowing that I have not only a support network of my sisters locally, but that there are sisters across the United States that I can reach out to for any number of reasons via this board.
On a lighter note, while keeping up with everything this semester is kicking my hiney, there is light at the end of the tunnel! My new mantra is May 15, May 15, May 15. In about 90 days I'll graduate and put this chapter in my life behind me. I'm so excited about the job potentials, and doing something that I absolutely love - counseling children and adolescents. I'm ready to set the world on fire! LOL!

OK, what's up with everyone?
Highs-Sister is getting married and neice is having TWINS! Great weather all my flowers are blooming. Son is coming home with some friends tomorrow. We found a new assistant.
Life is good!
Lows-My mother is not taking care of herself.
Now, the REASON my son is coming home is because HE'S SPENDING TOO MUCH MONEY!!! Wants to refill the coffers and have me buy him some clothes! So much for our "budget"!
Still happy he's coming!

aggieAXO-I think you may find you will be more pleased with your results that way. You will be able to be more creative and come up with things you are really pleased with! A lot of people rush into things and the end result isn't as cohesive as they hoped.
What all are you doing?
Christopher Lowell's Seven Layers of Design is GREAT for getting your imagination working!

JAM,
thanks for the words of wisdom, I know I should take my time but I just can't wait to get it all over with .
As far as the house goes, I am re-doing all the floors, mainly in saltillo tile but will also have some hardwoods placed (the contractor does not like laminant and says this will be out of style soon)-I think the flooring is going to cost the most. I have "cottage cheese" celings and will have all of these scraped off and re-textured. In the den I will have wood beams put up in the ceiling to make it feel more like I guess you would say a log cabin? (my mother calls it my "hacinda"-I think that is the way you spell spanish for house)
And the cats are driving me crazy so I am going to have the laundry room changed into a "litterbox" room, it will be walled off with a small opening for them and a small door for me to be able to go in and change the litterboxes. The washer and dryer will be placed in the garage.
Then the downstairs bathroom will be totally re-done except for the tub which is white-I can deal with this.
Next year I will do my upstairs. The master bathroom will get a whirl pool jacuzzi tub and I am going to take half of my huge walk in closet and make it into a sauna. I am going to place a plasma (sp?) TV above the tub so I can have a nice long soak and watch TV .
Then there is the outside-I am going to have all new landscaping done in the front yard and eventually in the back which will include a hot tub-this is probably 2-3 years away though.
I get so excited just thinking about it . Of course working all of the overtime to pay for this is not as exciting.

WOW OH WOW! This sounds fantastic!
Would you start a thread on this, because I have a TON of things I'd like to talk with you about? First being, will you do any of the work yourself? Second...When did you win the lottery???

JAM,
I wish I had won the lottery! I made a pretty nice profit when I sold my condominium-so this is helping plus I have no husband or kids so the only person I have to spend money on is me (and my mom of course ).
I will do all of the painting myself as I have painted since I was a little girl (dad use to own a paint store in San Antonio so I spent a lot of time around paints/painters). Otherwise the rest will be left up to the contractor.
There is so many more things I would like to do-for instance a skylight in the living room, french doors leading out to the outside atrium- those will have to wait .

LOWS: ... at work I am also taking a class at school and have a program due Friday at midnight. It was SUPPOSED to be due wednesday, but my teacher was sick pushed the date back. Which would have been good but... Senior Beer Golf is the same friday!! So I'm working really hard to get it done early, but I don't know if it'll get done. Also, it's raining today, boo.
HIGHS: Great weekend. . Friday we had a Clam Bake [supposed to be an Oyster Roats, but the store was out of Oysters, go figure]. Saturday was Carolina Cup [Horse races in Camden SC where we all wear sundresses and tailgate all day] Had a blast there. This coming saturday I have a cocktail party to go to... my friends Birthday Party, so that'll be fun. And this coming monday, my boyfriend is going to meet my parents for the first time . But it'll be ok, since my brother is coming out to eat with all of us too and us 3 hang out a lot anyway.
ETA: I forgot, it's greek week this week and our dancers won the dance compeition!!! Oh, yeah... and 2 weeks ago our girl won Miss Clemson!!

Highs:
I'm engaged!!!!!!!! Woo-Hoo!!! Have been for 3 weeks now and I have to say it's pretty cool.
It's Easter weekend so I'm at home w/ the parents and the fiance is coming tomorrow for our first holiday together. Awww.
Today was a holiday from work and my mom and I spent the whole day shopping. Got a new dress and my wedding planner and a cool new pair of pants for the summer.
Lows:
None really right now. Unless you count the fact that I've had a scratchy throat all day and I'm wondering if I'm getting sick...
