yea, but it's not nearly as bad as people who stay dim and slow witted throughout their post history.

I think it more shows you how useless that person's comments are going to be. If you have been able to think of 2,500 different things to say, there clearly isn't much substance to each post.

It is interesting that that is the video you post
|
What's that supposed to mean? If you read back through my posts, any insinuation you may be making is far from the mark...
I saw this on the news and was deeply disturbed. This happened in a highschool in full view of teachers. You are a teacher, what would be your reaction? I think we are in a full moral decline, and unfortunately, with the advent of the internet and 24 news stations, we are bombarded with that fact continuously.

@srmom If I had seen it, I would have stopped it because that is gross. Of course, I would not see that where I teach.
You mention the media and I wonder if the sense of the moral decline of the nation is not intensified by the real-time nature of our society or our media's voyeuristic fascination with all things degrading. For every story like this, there are many more cases of students that are not acting inappropriately; however, these are the ones that get publicity and attention.
My sense is that much of what we see today has been around as long as there have been humans, (much not all) but that we are just seeing more of it these days.

Actually, at or around that time, my forefathers were trying to scratch out a living in Ireland and dreaming of coming to the "new country" so that they could make a new start.

You are probaby 100% right. Also, I may just be getting old and starting to think like my parents, they thought my generation was "the worst" too.
Stepping back out of this thread - Carry on..

I catch myself thinking this sometimes too, and then I think that I'm too young to be thinking like this already.

Agreed. There are "southern" parts of NC, VA, KY, TX, AR, and northern FL, but he got "the South" right.

Or at least to southerners. If you want to know what is "the south," a southerner seems like a damn good person to ask.
