I guess then we AOIIs would be in Gryffindor. . . Our colour is cardinal which is a red just as scarlet is a red. We don't have a 2nd color so. . . .

We could always go by the Quidditch team colours (I know it doesn't go with the original post comparing the AI sorority to Gryffindor. . . ).

Appleby Arrows: Pale blue with silver arrows (Pi Phi?, TPA?)
Ballycastle Bats: Red and black (AOII?)
Caerfilly Catapults: Light green and scarlet (AGD?)
Chudley Cannons: Orange and black
Falmouth Fallons: Dark gray and white
Holyhead Harpies: Dark green and gold
Kennmare Kestrals: Emerald green and yellow
Montrose Magpies: Black and white
Pride of Portree: Deep purple and gold (DPhiE?)
Piddlemere United: Navy and gold (AXiD? DDD?)
Tutshill Tornadoes: Sky blue and navy (KKG)
Wigtown Wanderes: Blood red and silver
Wimbourne Wasps: Black and yellow (Theta)

Quidditch Through the Ages doesn't give the colours for any teams outside the UK and Ireland so I'm not able to lengthen the list.

Guess I have too much time, huh?!

Sarah

Just as we followed Donna, Brandon and Kelly in 90210 from high school through college, I want to know if we will be able to follow Hermione through rush after Hogwarts! Only if she goes to college in North America, I guess.

AS CO-MOD, I am getting very disgusted with this!

If It is not known by the 1 st Day of July, I will delete this thread.

It is getting redundante, Boring, and getting No where but the Tread of a Tire spinning in the muck and mire!!!

Off the pot or give the information in a real situation! This is not the Comic strip of life!

I am sorry, but I have to reply to this. I believe the people that are contributing to this thread are rather enjoying themselves and how this thread is progressing. Those that are not interested are not posting. I don't believe anyone that is posting in this thread is breaking any rules, so I don't see why this thread should be deleted.

Your impatience is not justification for deleting a thread.

I think Tom was being sassy...I'm not sure.

Tom, AI for certain organizations takes a long, long time. I think our beloved tinydancer must be looking at one of those groups. We are just keeping her entertained.

I have always thought it could be Alpha Phi b/c of the scarlet but now I guess it could be AOII too b/c they also have scarlet. I also always thought Phi Mu or ADPi b/c of the Gryffindor lion symbol.

The saying goes for EVERYONE on GC, whether you be a newbie, regular, old-timer, and even moderator.

Tom, I see your threatening to delete this thread as a slap in the face to tinydancer and her quest for AI. So what if she can't reveal names yet? You don't like it because you think it's boring? Give me a friggin' break! Last time I checked, "boring threads" aren't a violation of the Terms of Service. Don't abuse your mod status. You'll piss off a lot of people that way.

tinydancer, I'm sorry to contribute to letting this get O/T. I really am enjoying reading about your road to AI and I wish you the best of luck!

I'm wishing you luck too sweetie! Right now I am reading the first Harry Potter book so I can't participate in the color thread!

OOh Teeny...thanks for having tinydancer's back, sister! I think I speak for mostly everyone in this thread when I say thanks for having OUR backs!

Now back to our regularly scheduled thread!

Concerns about prospective Alum Initiates threads being deleted...

Michelle's .02 cents, (sorry its long)

Please lets not get too nasty on this thread and everyone concerned needs to develope patients (myself included).

As others had mentioned "It is not wise to count your chickens before they hatch". That said, it would not be wise for Tinydancer, others, and myself to reveal GLOs until we've been told Yes we are going to be initiated on such and such date.

Personally, I do not see any reason to delete the thread b/c rush & bid day etc, for most GLOs doesn't start until mid to late August and for others not until September.
Lets evaluate the AI threads after September when most of the prospective alum initiates will know exactly where they stand before threads are arbitrary ereased/deleted of of the Alum Involvement forum. In my case I will be working with the advising team and going thru the prospective alumna initiate program so I cannot reveal the GLO choice that was mutual.

Ok I'm done and off my soap box now.

I sincerely hope that this is a joke that is going over all of our heads. If it is not, I'm truly disgusted by your threat to abuse your power as the forum moderator, Tom. If tinydancer does not want to reveal her choice in her quest for AI, then that is her choice, not yours. You can not force her to do so just because you want to know and think banter in here annoying. No rules of GC have been violated in this thread.

Please also refer to the many other threads above mine in the thread as they also convey what I'm thinking right now very well.

Sorry for the hijack, tinydancer, best of luck in your AI quest and we hope you can reveal your choice soon, but do it in your own time.

Well, I have to say, I've been reading this thread from the beginning, and I've read Tom's posts for a long time, and I'm surprised anyone is getting stressed about his post! It's a joke folks! (and on the off chance it's not, then Tom, lay off the funny cigarettes).

tinydancer knows we're all cheering for her on the sidelines!

Joke or not, I just hope that tinydancer knows that many of us, moderators included, are very supportive of her.

EDITED: because Sandy can be a total bitch sometimes.
