Brothers,
When writing an article such as this, I take great pains to verify every fact and keep notes of the sources. Late last week, I asked another brother to read the story and check it over for accuracy. He added the line in question right before leaving on a trip and was thereafter incommunicado. I allowed his addition to remain, and we went to print.
Despite the context, implying this happened in or around 1926, no pictures of undergraduates appeared before 1961. By that time virtually all fraternities already had their own pledge manuals. Therefore, I cannot vouch for the veracity of the statement and have no answer to your question.
But if it is true, perhaps it's best that it remain a mystery.
I am glad you liked the article as a whole, and I appreciate your kind words.
In ZAX,
Jono

It's That Time of Month!
Brothers,
The latest Cross & Crescent Magazine has been published on time and as promised for the 26th continuous month. This represents a total of 416 pages of new information about our Fraternity.
There is an article about our Centennial Celebration that is must reading. Be sure to share your thoughts about plan of action for our Centennial.
If you like sports, this will be an issue for you.
Happy New Year,
Yours in ZAX,
Mike Raymond

Um, forgot about MIKE TANNENBAUM, GM of the NY Jets Football Team!!!!!!! Umass-Gamma Zeta.
Pitino shouldn't be in there, doesn't deserve it. One of our brothers approached him during GZ's darkest hour to see if he had any advice or help, and he acted like LXA never existed.

February C & C is On-line
Brothers,
Another issue of the Cross & Crescent is available for your reading enjoyment. In my opinion it is a strong issue worth checking out.
You will find a fine article about Garner Mulloy, once a world class tennis player, and still with us at 94!
You will also find an article about the demise of LCAP written by its new Chairman.
The Winter Leadership Retreat is also covered. Some mention is made of the Centennial Celebration.
Of course the best article in this issue is part two of Jono's superb article about the Paedagogus.
Well done once again Jono!
Let them know what you think. It is mostly a volunteer operation that is saving the Fraternity hundreds of thousands of bucks each year. Your comments would be appreciated....

Mike Raymond,

Well, the LCAP article is not 100% accurate.
The Gamma Zeta alumni ARE interested in purchasing back the property. Only we do not have the means to carry it for very long, and we would have to take out a mortgage to purchase it. With no recolonization on the horizon, we wouldn't have the means to keep the property, and we would end up selling it.
So it doesn't make much sense for Gamma Zeta to repurchase the property from LCAP only to turn around and sell it. We hope to work out an arrangement with LCAP that would essentially cut-out the middle-man (Gamma Zeta).
If something is not worked out, Gamma Zeta would indeed purchase back the property and sell it.

Thank you Mike! But, of course, you do have my curiosity up - what Jimmy Buffett song?

I wish I could say you're wrong, GZ. Pitino has spurned every effort we've made to get him to participate in our chapter. He wouldn't even sign a damn basketball for an alumni raffle we were holding!

I'll bet you were thinking of Gardner McKay, who had that great sailboat in the TV show "Adventures in Paradise".

Who gets the input?
If I make an input on the C&C web site who gets the input? Mike? Jason Pearce?

Brother John,
Jason Pearce is the "Info Tech" Guy and Editor of the C&C. He is assisted by Tad Lichtenauer and Chris Barrick.
I believe that Jason has the ability to see and edit everything that comes to the magazine. He is the "main man" as far as the C&C goes.
I hope that this helps answer your question.

I was curious what the 'food chain' was; I discovered a brother that was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and made the appropriate input via the web page. I had thought about sending it to Mike directly but elected to follow the rules - glad I did!

The C&C Magazine Is On-Line!
Brothers,
Continuing its unbroken string of being published on time, the Cross & Crescent Magazine made its appearance early this morning.
You might find the article by Executive VP Bill Farkas to be of interest.
Congratulations to the C&C Team for another fine issue.

Mike Raymond,
