It's nuts out there...luckily our management company shoveled the sidewalks, but otherwise EVERYTHING is covered. The windows on our first floor are partially blocked with the snow.

it's completely white out here. they've now upped it to 28-38 inches.

some idiots woke me up last night, i'm guessing as they were leaving the bar, screaming and screeching tires as they tried to get their car out of a spot, without digging the snow out aroudn the car. if it was me, i would have just taken a cab home and come back for the car at a later date. i was watching and laughing at them.

they do that in Boston too. People are very possessive of their cleaned out parking spots and will start fights if you try to steal it from them.

My car is completely covered.
Keep in mind, I have a 94 explorer.
I'm debating about going out to clean it off, but I'm already sick. I shouldn't risk it

This is probably an urban legend, but still good:

A guy in (Chicago, Pittsburgh, Boston) spent hours shoveling out a space in front of his house, and walked the block to the place where his car was parked. In the time that he got his car back to his newly shoveled space, someone else had taken it.

He had had it. After thinking a few minutes, he got out his garden hose, and starting filling the errant car with water. Did I mention that it was well below freezing?

After filling the car with water, and watching it slowly freeze to the parking space, he left a note: "You wanted this space? Fine - it's yours until spring!"

I don't care if it's an urban legend or not, it's a great story!

Now why did I think of that last year??!! We had some wicked snow and stupid me didn't fill up on asthma medicine. So after CVS opened 3 days after I ran out of meds, my roommates and neighbors helped me get my car out and to the pharmacy (while I had an asthma attack trying to shovel). I came back, and there was someone in my spot. I went off on him. Then came out later in the night and drizzled apple juice all over the sides of the car and on the roof.
Freaked him out nicely.

Turns out I don't have to work tomorrow; my boss called to let me know.

Some of the kids from the neighborhood are outside playing. It's funny to see them dive into the snow, and then a couple of minutes later pop up for air. It's like they're going swimming in it.

They were showing video of people snowshoeing down Beacon Street, by the State House and Boston Garden. That is some crazy stuff.

As a new Boston resident, I have one question:

Where are you supposed to put all the snow that you need to shovel to walk down the sidewalk and get out your car?

The worse part was I talked to the parents in MD today and they said "got about 6-8 inches and used the snowblower, cleaned the driveway right off"

So Not Fair.

Note to residents in my dorm...

Residents of Jaffray Hall,

Please do not shovel your snow behind AND ATOP my car while you are trying to dig your own cars out. Today, I had about four feet of snow tossed behind my car that I had to dig out so I could go to work in the morning.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Signed,
A woman who will hurt you if you do it again!

*bump*

looks like another few incehs.
snow just isn't as fun anymore...it was much more fun when i was stuck in an apt with my roommates or out with my sisters.
its kinda boring now. snow isn't something to look foward to, but rather an inconvience.

Bizump

A half hour ago there were very light flurries as I entered the 23rd St. station on the 1 line. When I left the Franklin St. station, ten minutes ago, it was snowing. Now the wind is howling.

I think that I should go to sleep and wake up on Thursday, but that's just not going to happen.
