Thanks to Facebook, I've found out that several women whom I went to Hebrew school with many years ago went Greek: 1 AEPhi, 1 Gamma Phi Beta, 1 Delta Gamma, and one Pi Phi.

In my graduating class:

1. One of my best friends from high school went SAI. (Her younger brother, who I'm also really close with is pledging Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia right now.)

2. Another good friend from my class pledged a local at her school.

3. One girl went KKG

Did my friends go Greek (yes I realize this threads old as balls)? 1/5th of my high school went greek...and I went to a Public School. My best friends went Sigma Chi, Lambda Chi and Phi Gam as well as a few Sigma Nus and Phi Delts.

My high school graduating class was almost 700! I do know of a couple who did go greek (and there's probably more, I just have no idea since I didn't know too many in my senior class):

-2 Alpha Phi
-2 Gamma Phi Beta
-1 Chi Omega
-1 Delta Sigma Phi
-1 Delta Tau Delta

And I know people graduated after me:

-a few (not sure how many) went Delta Zeta
-Chi Omega

Its been way too long lol....

Well, this is more people I know, not necessarily just my friends. I'm just stoked about how many people I know in random orgs even though CA isn't that big on Greek life.

HS - 1 DG, 1 ZTA, 1 Phi Sig, 1 Alpha Phi, 1 Pi Phi, 1 Theta, 1 Kappa, 1 Tri Delt

Middle school/other places - 1 Alpha Xi Delta, 2 ADPis, 1 KA, 2 AXO, 1 SK, 2 or 3 Kappa Sigmas

All of my best friends went greek if their school had GLOs (I had a friend go to Georgetown, for example, and so obviously he isn't in a fraternity). The girls all went DG, Theta, Gamma Phi Beta or Alpha Phi and my guy friends went SAE, Sigma Chi (almost all of them), Delts, Sigma Nu and Phi Psi.

Georgetown has chapters of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Alpha Epsilon Pi.

At any rate, one more of my high school friends went Greek. She's a Delta via the Washington, DC Alumnae Chapter. In fact, at least two of her line sisters also went to our high school!

Among my extended circle, there are now:

2 Alphas
3 AKAs
1 Kappa
1 Sigma
1 Zeta
1 SGRho
1 Iota
1 Alpha Sigma Phi

Of the girls I hung out with in HS only myself and one other (Auburn Alpha Xi Delta) went greek. My BFF was blasted away at UGA rush and has transferred to Georgia Tech. She doesn't have much good to say about UGA.

My high school was small, and pretty anti-greek. Out of the people who went Greek, almost all of them are here at Missouri State with me.
my boyfriend - KA
friend's older brother - KA
me - ASA
girl from classes - DZ
Triangle (at UMR)

My class graduated about 170. We are a pretty small school, the kind where you've gone to school with these people since elementary school and everyone knows everyone. So, in my class, we have these Greeks (that I know about--which I'm pretty sure is everyone):

NIC:
Pi Kappa Alpha (Penn State)
Pi Lambda Phi (RPI)
Theta Chi (Bucknell)

NPC:
Alpha Chi Omega (Elon)
Alpha Chi Omega (Maryland)
Alpha Gamma Delta (High Point)
Alpha Omicron Pi (Maryland)
Alpha Omicron Pi (Maryland)
Alpha Xi Delta (CSUN)
Kappa Delta (High Point)
Kappa Delta (High Point)
Kappa Delta (Tennessee)
Phi Sigma Sigma (GWU)
Sigma Kappa (Maryland) me
Sigma Kappa (Virginia Tech)
Sigma Sigma Sigma (Marshall)
Zeta Tau Alpha (Radford)

Service:
Alpha Phi Omega (Towson)
Phi Sigma Pi (Maryland)
Phi Sigma Pi (Maryland)
Phi Sigma Pi (Maryland)

I don't talk to a lot of people that I went to high school with. Most of them I only see on occasion. And of the ones I am friends with on Facebook, I really can't think of any that are Greek. But I have a few friends that I met over the summer during college (at work or through other friends), and I have friends in:

ΣΦΕ

ΚΑΘ

ΠBΦ

ΔΧ

ΑΣT (she was my friend before she joined, but had thought about joining before she met me. I didn’t find that out until I mentioned I was in a sorority, then told her which one, some months after we met)

and my step-brother is a ΠΚΦ

My best friend since second grade went AEPhi at UCLA. Another friend went Chi O at USC.

Through Facebook I just found out that I grew up with a former DPhiE International President's daughter.

In accordance with many small towns, which GLO you joined depended on where you went to school. My friends:

Mizzou: 3-4 joined Pi Kappa Alpha, 4-5 joined Delta Upsilon, 1 Phi Kappa Psi and 1 Phi Delta Theta; 2 girls joined Chi Omega.

My friends who went to Southeast Missouri State joined Delta Chi.

My friends who went to Truman State joined Alpha Kappa Lambda and 2 girls joined Delta Zeta.

My friend who went to Missouri Valley College joined Sigma Nu.

My friend who went to Indiana State joined Sigma Kappa..

My friend who went to Arkansas State joined Zeta Tau Alpha.

My cousin joined Sigma Chi with me.

Of my close friends from my US High School (all boys prep) only one did not go Greek. He went to the Seminary to become a Jesuit Priest. We used to kid him that instead of SJ behind his name it should be GDI. Of the rest of our group one went SAE, one Beta, one KA, one Psi Upsilon, and four of us went DEKE (three different chapters).
At my UK school three later joined the 'Popes Society' at Oxford which had a sort of reciprocal arrangement with DEKE. The Duke of Norfolk is its advisor/sponsor. Several others joined 'Apollo' which is a just a bit like Acasia was in its early days. It is incredably selective and is also loaded with Peers and sons of Peers.
My sisters close friends from her all girls school went Pi Phi, KKG, or Theta. I think all of them went Greek but I'll have to check.

Off the top of my head, I have high school friends who are in: Theta, Pi Phi, Kappa, Tri Delta, SDT, Alpha Phi, Gamma Phi Beta, Chi O, and KD...at schools all over the country.
